RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 So they simply can't keep trotting Smoak out there right? 0 for his last 29 with RISP
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 So they simply can't keep trotting Smoak out there right? He's been a literal black hole for weeks now.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 better that than potentially losing in 14
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Smashing the ball seems like a good strategy to me. It was just right at a good 3B. He did what he had to, s*** happens, he crushed that.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That sucks. Edwin hit it hard. Headley made a great pick. Smoak had great chance to tie it in the 5th with a SF. That game was ass. Got to hand it to our arms tonight. Our bats were ice f***ing cold. Get em tomorrow. Smoak just needed a ground ball.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 He's been a literal black hole for weeks now. since the extension.... lol
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yankees were 2-18 with runners in scoring position... Jays were 0-3... We're lucky New York didn't lay an ass beating on us tonight.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Consistently zero offence from your first baseman isn't a great recipe for success. That extension can go screw itself with a tire iron.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Tough loss folks, at least we had a chance... they'll take the next 2 games, no doubt. GO JAYS GO!
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 He did what he had to, s*** happens, he crushed that. Headley doesn't hit much anymore but he still has the mitt. He made a hell of a play on that smash. Made a tough play look easy. And now I'm going to go smash something....
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Tough loss folks, at least we had a chance... they'll take the next 2 games, no doubt. GO JAYS GO! I dunno if it's gonna be that easy. The Yankees are on a "Major League" like Indians Ricky Vaughn surge... It seems ever since they shipped off some key pieces that Girardi has em playing over their heads. They're literally hot as hell right now.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I don't find that fun at all.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yup. Reminds me of Donaldson's final out in the ALCS last year.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I don't find that fun at all. Jesus, I didn't think it was hit that hard, nice job by Headley.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yup. Reminds me of Donaldson's final out in the ALCS last year. Pretty much identical. *shudders*
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yup. Reminds me of Donaldson's final out in the ALCS last year. He hit one with 2 on to Moose even harder in that game. I think it was 109. .
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I don't find that fun at all. I really f***ing hate getting KC'd. Hands down the most infuriating way to lose.

Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 If smoak is in the lineup again tomorrow, I dunno if I can continue to watch
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yeah, but we're a better club, even with the injuries. Most definitely, but tomorrow the Jays have Estrada facing Pineda... I love Marco, and I've been extremely surprised by his performance... But he still does make me nervous in Yankee Stadium. Jays have Happ VS Sabathia on Wednesday though, so we should at least win 1 against the depleted Stankees
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Tough loss folks, at least we had a chance... they'll take the next 2 games, no doubt. GO JAYS GO! We actually have to hit for that to happen.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 DFA Edwin No joke Can we ban this guy?
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Can we ban this guy? LOL stupid comment indeed. But the Dogg is just as infuriated as the rest of us. That game was infuriating
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 So... Do we cheer for Baltimore or Boston tomorrow? Is it good that one team for sure is losing? Or is it worse that one team is for sure winning? I'm conflicted...
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 @Belliss: Edwins been the clear-cut team MVP... We can't start losing our s*** because he rolled over one in a sensational situation.

But I can't blame a guy for irrationally lashing out after such an infuriating game

Well the good thing is that we guaranteed gain ground on one of them if we win, considering how many times both of them have won when we did (or when we lost).
