G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Let the man f***ing pitch. Well put
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 For the playoffs in a full series I want Estrada Sanchez Happ Stroman for the rotation I don't think anything less than that is acceptable at this point unless the Liriano/Martin reunion works out beautifully In a one game playoff or Wild Card I'd be fine with any of those first 3 at the moment And Stroman has time to win himself back into the conversation
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I would be down for the Jays to skip 2 of his remaining 10 regular season starts but anything more than that is wasting a great opportunity with the core we have right now in this team. Yea seriously, find a way to make it work. Space out a few starts, he could even skip ALDS if they really wanted to reserve him.
Melvin Verified Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Maybe I'm alone, but I have a feeling Liriano will be solid Not that my opinion matters, but I have a weird feeling that he will be solid as well. I haven't really ever liked Liriano, so I'm not sure why I feel that way.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 If they pull him out of the rotation completely and the Jays miss the playoffs lets say and then next year EE and Jose are gone and the Jays don't add pieces and we become a 84 win team again I think we will all have a hard time with that outcome.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 In a one game playoff or Wild Card I'd be fine with any of those first 3 at the moment And Stroman has time to win himself back into the conversation Since the beginning of July. Stroman has pitched like an ace. http://i.imgur.com/Mf6q1rd.png And you could call that cherry picked. But his numbers on the season have started to come around as well. Pretty much in line with his career norms aside from the slightly bloated ERA. I would have no problem with him starting a wild card game.

Big time That's the worst possible outcome as a fan

Our pitching has carried this team the most this year and next year the rotation is pretty much already in stone with Liriano in and Dickey/Thole out. Depending who replaces EE/JB (hopefully Saunders at least stays), it could still be another dog race with the Yankees in rebuild mode. /end optimistic POV

Governator Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I remember wondering why we didn't do this last year... Does it only work for the ALDS though? Probably because everyone knows Price was a choker. I don't remember our order but it would have been something like: G1 Price G2 Stroman rest G3 Estrada G4 Price rest G5 Stroman Thus only Price would have been on short rest. I believe it could only work for divison series. We haven't made the postseason enough for me to know or care lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I remember wondering why we didn't do this last year... Does it only work for the ALDS though? There are only 2 off days during the 7 game ALCS so it's tougher. They play: 2 games - 1 off day - 3 games - 1 off day - 2 games In the ALDS you have 2 off days between 5 games so it's easier skip a guy if you want to

We haven't made the postseason enough for me to care lol what was even more funny is that texas basically conceded us those 2 games in texas by starting a lefty and a scrub instead of sending Gallarado out first and 4th game to push our s*** in.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Maybe I'm alone, but I have a feeling Liriano will be solid There isn't much evidence of this. But his first start against the free swinging Royals might work out pretty well. I like him in certain matchups. However will get thoroughly man handled by teams with dicipline.

Would you consider moving back to Texas?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I suspect Martin is not even the most upset in that clubhouse. I can't imagine Bautista taking the news well especially since he's probably not in the long-term plans. Donaldson probably said something because he's insane. Tulo probably pouted visibly. Completely agree that Jose is probably vocal and pissed, but he's not in the long term plans because he wants 6 years $150M...his fault. He should STFU. God I hate Bautista.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Would you consider moving back to Texas? Naw I am good, if I were to move back to the States I would pick a chill mountain state like Utah/Colorado/Wyoming or Northern California and just chill and work on a ski resort and have a great life.

He's been an ace too #4seamer
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Doctors and all their information are doing a real good job of preventing all these pitchers injuries aren't they? Doctor's don't teach pitching mechanics.

Colorado and Northern California would be pretty wonderful. I've never even considered Wyoming.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 An educated guess is a lot better than a non-educated guess. Yup those educated guess's have never steered a company, a nation or the world wrong!!! Lol Much like assuming by or with a degree! Follow me, follow me whilst I play this flute and you,Right off this cliff!!! Lol
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Doctor's don't teach pitching mechanics. Everyone should just start throwing underhand and will start seeing less injuries. Problem solved.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Colorado and Northern California would be pretty wonderful. I've never even considered Wyoming. Wyoming is pretty open and empty but in the Northwest corner it has Yellowstone National Park and some solid mountains with a lot of snowfall to ski/snowboard in so I would be in heaven.
