Why? The guy's peripherals are atrocious. A <9 K/9, 5.00 FIP, 4.36 xFIP, etc.

If he had numbers like Trevor May, then I'd agree with you, but Storen's been s*** in every way.

Because he's been great for 90% of his career and will be available for a total investment of like 200k.

Because years of much better performance would lead one to believe that it's still in there and maybe a change of scenery could bring out the Grilli in him. Storen is not old so the odds are that he isn't just losing it.

I'm pretty sure he lost it. His fastball has dropped by over 2 mph.

His FB velocity is down 2 mph and he's getting hit harder than he ever has before. He might be able to turn things around but it's not like the Jays gave up on him because of his ERA. He's been pretty damn bad with some red flags around him.

With that said, getting rid of him just to bring up Tepera is pointless. I'd rather have Storen with a velocity drop than Tepera fully healthy.

Yeah Tepera is ********. Jays must be close to acquiring someone else. Doesn't really make sense otherwise.

Seriously wtf does Danny Barnes need to do to get a shot. Free him.

Its not a stupid FO, and Ive got a lot of faith in them. But this one I don't get. Punting Storen and his $ took balls. To me it shows a commitment to ensuring those that produce play, but Barnes needs a shot. Tepara has good stuff, but he has never produced at this level. If I hear about his "reverse splits" one more time I may go postal.

Osuna went back to his dad when he started to falter to get straightened out. Perhaps Blue jays should consider hiring him to straighten out the rest of the bull pen.

Now youve cursed him. Randy Ruiz worked out well.

But in all seriousness, he probably will get a shot at some point but I wont be shocked if he flops. I hold little faith in the ability of a guy who was never even good enough to be tried as a starter in the minors... ever.

3 career starts in the minors in 7 seasons.

That being said, he may have made changes this season as his walk rate has plummeted from his previously consistent 7 to 8% to a mere 2 -3 %, while bumping his K rate up from 28% to 36% even while jumping up a level, though his AAA sample size is still very small and he's probably still benefitting from seeing hitters for the first time.

When I think of a bad Blue Jays pitcher, Luke Prokopec is always the first person that comes to mind!

The only thing I remember about Luke Prokopec is that he hit a triple that one time.

I remember the Randy Ruiz craze! It looked like he ended up playing over in Japan. It should have been HIM that broke Oh's single season home run record instead of Balentien!!

Speaking of which, do they have any testing or rules about PED's over in Japan? I wonder if Wladimir Balentien was on steroids when he hit all those home runs since he wasn't exactly a home run hitter here in the mlb.

He always had tons of power. He hit 147 homeruns in the Minor Leagues. Never manage to make the jump to the majors is all. That isn't to say he isn't taking steroids but there's been a lot of power in that bat his whole career. That's what earned him MLB opportunities in the first place.
