500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 How many games for an incidental bump? Regardless of our thoughts on Crapazza. How many games for the co-player of the month?
itaos Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Votto, Ortiz and Loney got one game suspension last year for an ump bump. Torii Hunter got two games and did not appeal. Should be one game for Encarnacion and the same for Carapazza.

I don't even mean the balls and strikes.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 1 game. Crapazza might actually get in s*** for that game, we'll have to see
STLJaysFan Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Looked like Edwin kept his arms behind his back to do his best not to touch the umpire anymore than he already did.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 1 game. Crapazza might actually get in s*** for that game, we'll have to see Umpire get in s*** lol.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Umpire get in s*** lol. Hey you never, that game got lots of attention. Got 2 prolific players ejected from the game & the strike zone was s*** for us, the bias was real until after the Martin ejection
candymartinez Verified Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 He missed two games worth of innings. That should be enough.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 lol you guys thinking Umps get disciplined?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Pretty naive to think an umpire will get in trouble for anything they do. They are more bullet proof than any official in any other sport. With that said, arguing with umps about the strike zone is tired as hell. You know these guys are power hungry and can control outcomes of games, so why rile them up? Maybe Bautista is rubbing off on everyone. It's ridiculous. Yes, the umps suck. They always have, and they always will. Just have to play through it. That's why it's laughable when MLB tries trivial things to "make the game better" (shorter time between pitches, etc), but the one thing that can improve the game (robo umps) will never be considered.

It's like you expect these guys to show no passion whatsoever for something they love, when, generally speaking, humans are very passionate creatures.

Well to be fair, after Martin ignited on him yesterday, the strike zone seemed to oddly become a lot more permanent...

Show passion, but then live with the consequences. When you get pulled over by the police, they have 100% power. You can't beat them. If you argue/curse at them, they'll still win, but possibly make it 10 times worse for you. Not the best example, but that's how umps are. They have all the authority in baseball and you can't beat them. So curse at them, and live with the punishment. They are wrong more often than not, but what the hell are you going to do to officials who are bullet proof? You can't fight them.

Nothing you says changes the fact people are emotional/passionate people, and people fight the cops all the time lol.
