AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 for cash of a PTBNL. Seems kind of short-sighted in my opinion. The guy was pitching really well in AAA. Sanchez can't pitch a whole season, and the injury bug is going to hit us sooner or later. Who do we go to then?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Or Leblanc maybe asked to be traded?
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Or Leblanc maybe asked to be traded? That's quite possible actually. I can't see Shapiro/Atkins giving up that type of depth so easily.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 That's quite possible actually. I can't see Shapiro/Atkins giving up that type of depth so easily. Leblanc was likely never going to get a chance here and if the Mariners are giving him an opportunity to start in the majors you let him do it.
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 After hutch who's next on the depth chart now ?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 After hutch who's next on the depth chart now ? Roberto Hernandez, Scott Diamond, Chris Leroux, Jeremy Gabryszwski (who's likely to get a promotion to Buffalo soon), Luis Santos.
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Maybe they're just borrowing him and will ship him back to us after the season, Johnny Mac style.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Wade Leblanc is a soft tosser. Brad Mills was a soft tosser. I don't like soft tossers. f*** Brad Mills! And f*** Wade Leblanc! I have no issue with this move.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 We can pick up a mediocre AAA starter whenever we want. Why are people upset about this?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 We can pick up a mediocre AAA starter whenever we want. Why are people upset about this? It's very silly.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Who's upset with this? Edit: NVM, I see, lol.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Thanos Tell him to use his Infinity Gauntlet and reverse the deal if he hates it so much.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 It's very silly. It's silly because you think LeBlanc is a viable MLB pitcher and the front office that you constantly praise doesn't agree?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 It's silly because you think LeBlanc is a viable MLB pitcher and the front office that you constantly praise doesn't agree? 1. It's silly that people are upset 2. Way to jump right to snark level maximum
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 crikes, can we please stop posting about Wade Lef***ingBlanc
vdartanian Verified Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I bet the Bisons are pissed. Maybe the Jays can take some of that cash and go buy the Bisons a new shinebox!
wamco Verified Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Clearly Leblanc for cash is a bad deal.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I swear I posted a Matt Leblanc joke here earlier this morning :$
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Clearly Leblanc for cash is a bad deal. Clearly.
Nafro Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Clearly Leblanc for cash is a bad deal. You actually can have enough pitching....you can never have enough cash!

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Umm Hutch? I think he's suggesting Hutch is going to have to replace Sanchez....then who's the next option if/when the injury bug hits.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 how broke is this team? Most likely they were just doing a good thing for LeBlanc. 32-year old journeyman without a ton of MLB time who pitched well for them in AAA. Why hold him down there if some other team wants to give him an MLB chance?
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Some need to realize that if Wade LeBlanc is pitching for the Jays it wouldn't be a good thing.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 As long as everyone's confident that we don't need to use Scott Diamond, Roberto Hernandez or Chris Leroux, then fantastic. There's a reason people acquire depth pitching, and it's not to ship off one of your depth pitchers, as soon as someone else needs him.

Why hold him down there if some other team wants to give him an MLB chance? Bump. I'm certain this is done out of good faith by the FO. If you become known as the org that holds journeyman minor leaguers back from MLB service time, good luck getting depth guys to sign here in the coming years.
