That should have been a none out single with the infield in that tied the game at least because Pillar scores on Martin's BB. O's pulled a horseshoe out of their asses this game.

I hate when I hear these type of things. Its not like if Pillar gets on base every other thing that happened would happen the same way.

f*** that hurt. Closer struggling, bases juiced, EE on deck and the reigning MVP batting with one out. Would have backed our chances on another day.

Still, there's always tomorrow.

Hello darkness, my old friend

I've come to talk with you again

Because a vision softly creeping

Left its seeds while I was sleeping

And the vision that was planted in my brain

Still remains

Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone

Narrow streets of cobblestone

‘Neath the halo of a streetlamp

I turned my collar to the cold and damp

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light

That split the night

And touched the sound of silence

You can't assume anything either way. The point is, Pillar should have been on 1B with Travis up, who happened to hit a single. Barney and Martin happened to walk because Britton was erratic. So, go ahead and hate it if you want, but the fact remains that the O's pulled a horseshoe out of their asses this game.

True but a fast runner on with no outs is generally a good start to the inning.

How about this for a losing theme song?

And their tears are filling up their glasses

No expression, no expression

Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow

No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I'm dying

Are the best I've ever had

I find it hard to tell you

Cause I find it hard to take

When people run in circles

It's a very, very

Questionable moves....

So WTF is Gibby thinking bringing up Tulo early?

The Jays have been losing and need a shake up? NO! In fact the opposite, they are on a winning streak playing their best ball right now.

Tulo was extremely hot before he went down and we need to get him back in the lineup? NO, he was terrible with a batting average to match.

Tulo has been knocking the cover off the ball in the minors? NO, in fact he just got back onto the field down there and never even had a chance to warm up.

Barney has been garbage in the field and at the bat. NO, in fact he is one of only three players on the team that are actually batting .300. So why rush getting him to sit?

This move makes absolutely no sense on so many levels. Stupid. Tulo needed to warm up at the plate and get his confidence back before bringing him up….but no Gibby has to play it like a clueless idiot.

Frustrating, just frustrating

That's my Dads favourite song. I remember it from the Gears Of War commercial.

Not really angry but more frustrated and just baffled. For years now, Gibby has shown that he has the instincts of a rock. Luckily he has a team loaded with talent...because he sure is not going to out manage anyone to manufacture a win. There are things in life that make no sense....I know this. Gibby's employment as a baseball manager just happens to be one.

As much as I agree that Gibbons is a complete buffoon. Bringing back Tulo wasn't his call. The general manager typically makes the roster moves.

No Machado tomorrow or the next three games after that--he will serve his suspension tomorrow. So we might have a chance tomorrow, depending on Stroman..

It is also a theme song from Donnie Darko.

Dumb move nonetheless. Tulo NEEDED time down there to fine tune his technique at the plate. It seemed like a perfect opportunity where he could freely focus on himself and his technique without worrying about any other pressures. Now he has been thrown back into the fray and must do it on the fly while someone who was hitting .300 must sit. GM or Manager or whomever...someone made a real head-scratcher here.

I don't disagree with that either but it is what it is. It would have been Pillar up with the bases loaded instead of Tulo. Who knows what the result would have been. I have a feeling Tulo pushed to get back. He didn't orginally want to do a rehab stint. It's difficult to tell a guy making 20m to hit in the minors when he feels well enough to play.

Bottom line that's not something you blame Gibbons for. Smoak is the one who really f***ed up in that situation.

Tulo needs to bat 8th in lineup until he shows a span of 10 games batting .300 or better, then move to 7th, then wait a week see how he does before moving up any higher.

Gibbons just needs to take high road!

Are there still people that use batting average to gauge performance?

Don't forget Tulo was turning it around before his injury. .285/.345 .903OPS in his last 14 games before getting hurt.

Yeah, he was looking pretty good before going down. I'm hoping it won't take too long for him to reach that level again.

Tulo looked like his old 2015/2016 self yesterday. Taking meatballs down the plate early in the count, aggressive swinging out of the strike zone and taking boderline pitches for called strike 3's. There is also the odd "head-scratcher" of him completely missing meatballs too. The guy is so frustrating to watch at the plate.

He really needs to step up his game or GTFO.

Jeez man. Tough crowd. He only had a few ABs and squared a ball up right to LF. Nothing you can do about that.

The bases loaded K was a ball outside. You can argue he needs to protect the plate, but it was hardly a meatball.

Todays lineup should have him 8th or 9th

I would MUCH rather have Barney at the plate hitting over .300 than a "reputable" Tulo hitting less than .200. Call me simple, but I would.

If you insist on BA...

Barney is not a .300 hitter.

Tulo is not a sub-.200 hitter.

Tulo has always been an .800+ OPS guy with stellar D.

I'd rather have me at the plate hitting .500 over either of those guys, but the odds are that won't happen.

Tulo has proven himself over many years to be a far superior player to Barney. Both players have been in the league long enough that you know what they are.

WTF? Tulo has done s*** since signing with the Blue Jays. He hit .239 with a measly .317 OBP last year and this year is batting .199. PERIOD. Those are the facts. I guess you can look back and add on what he did earlier in his career and look at his college numbers and what he did as a youngster...but do those numbers really impact what he is DOING NOW!?!?!?! No, they don't. And do not say that Tulo has always been .800+ OPS guy with stellar D because he has not been this while with the Jays. So be careful using the word ALWAYS. And the last time I looked he sure was piling up the errors this year....so even his defense has suffered.

And this year Barney IS hitting over .300. Now he might not have the reputation of .300 hitter but who cares...he is ACTUALLY hitting .300 and that is a tad more important than your perception of Barney.

There are at least three fantastic versions of this song.

I'd love to play fantasy baseball in a league you're in.
