Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 5 years at 23mill and electric stuff. Would it be worth the risk withwith his temper? Hell no. We already have a bit of a reputation with Bautista (more for talking about his contracts and stuff on the field than anywhere else at least). No desire to double down on that, no matter how good the arm is.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Forget his temper, he's just a s***** pitcher... 5.32/5.29/5.61, barf. Velo is down 1.3 MPH this year from last, SwStr rate has fallen by 3%. There's nothing in his profile right now that promises better days ahead. Him being a piece of human garbage is just the cherry on the do-not-want sundae.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I want him to be traded. To the National League.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Pass! He needs to grow up.. Gregg Zaun would tear him a new one if he came to Toronto..

Him being a piece of human garbage is just the cherry on the do-not-want sundae. I'd take the 58 starts of midish 3's xFIP in 2014-2015 a lot more seriously than the 12 starts this year. He's not an ace, but who couldn't use a solid #3 starter on a cheap contract? I don't see anything concerning about his velocity in general. It's been back up approximately where it should be the last 4 or 5 starts. The drop in SwStr is a little more worrying. Really, he's just too big an ******* for me to want him on our team.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Pass! He needs to grow up.. Gregg Zaun would tear him a new one if he came to Toronto.. Well that would make me barf. Pass.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I'd definitely take on his contract. Not sure what I've give up for the privilege though.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Wouldn't pass on the chance to add a very affordable #3 starter if the price was right, even if he is a punk.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Dickey for Ventura. get it done I approve of this message

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Please throw in Thole. I think that's pretty much implied in any Dickey trade scenario.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I want him to be traded. To the National League. I want him to be traded. To the McDonalds drive thru.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I want him to be traded. To the National League. Yes. See how tough he is, when other pitchers have the option to bean him back.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I'd take that contract on (even with his attitude) and I assume he'd come at a discounted price in a trade. Hell I'd even encourage Shatkins to look in to it right now but they won't.

Baseball is still a game for entertainment and fans...no matter how much it may make sense in theory, I just couldn't get past having to cheer for possibly the biggest douchebag in north american sports.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Yeah the contract is appealing. He's the type of douche bag you acquire cheaply, let him build up his value, and then flip him again when his performance improves but before his douchiness starts to become an issue.

Basically what they tried to do with Yunel Escobar
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Ventura for Happ. Which side says no? Jays save a bit of money, get a bit more upside, get a lot more unlikable, and the Royals get a pitcher who would probably thrive in that park.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 f*** no, this guy is an absolute piece of s***. He is openly planning to hit Bautista the next time he faces him. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/the-reason-why-the-royals-have-considered-trading-yordano-ventura-071920349-mlb.html

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Passan is such a dramatic windbag. And so there Machado was, perhaps the American League MVP favorite, limping toward Ventura, then summoning the strength to throw an overhand right
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 hes a piece of s***, but he could be our piece of s***
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Nah, I don't want this cancer on our team.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 hes a piece of s***, but he could be our piece of s*** If the ROYALS can't put up with him being their piece of s***, then no one may be able to.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 I take a chance if the value is good. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery. JD could straighten him out. Maybe Tulo goes the other way.
