Gotta say I'm really loving the lineup today. Stack your best hitters at the top of the order... Don't need to hope Pillar or Saunders get on base to do damage. It's a treat to see Goins out of the lineup too. Having him in the lineup almost equates to an automatic out. Loving the acquisition of Paredes, Jays really needed it.

Zaun, reeks of desperation

I find him entertaining. At first I found him to be kind of gruff and off putting but I find the honesty refreshing. Guy doesn't beat around the bush for the sake of being appealing on TV.

Zaun's a tool, doesn't even feel that putting your highest OBP guys at the top is worth mentioning.

From how the lineup was performing it really doesn't mean much. Saunders was the team's best hitter by wRC+ and was hitting leadoff before.

Bautista's the best on base guy on the team. Have him get something started and you still have all the thunder following him. I like Saunders too, but having KP bat lead off (even against lefties) drives me nuts.

At this point I'm sacrificing chickens in my living room and drinking lambs blood to get them to hit. It's not going to hurt and sometimes shaking things up leads to results that are tough to explain. KC batting Alcides LO is one that pops to mind. In this case Jose hitting LO and shaking up the order the way they have is far more defensible and logical than that. Let's hope the hocus pocus works.

Some of his stuff is ok, but for the most part he just picks out the negative in any positive

Agree that having Pillar lead off vs LHP was annoying.

Another thing to note:

Jays have had a rough traveling schedule as of late. That might be able to explain the general lethargy of their play. Doesn't exactly help that they now had to fly over to Minnesota for 4 games.

Agree I like the move for that reason. Was just saying from a strictly numbers point of view the move doesn't mean much since Saunders was the best hitter coming into the game.

Yeah the guy does seem like a rather miserable person. Definitely not the kind of guy who you would expect to conform to working for suits on their terms and schedule. I'm actually quite surprised that he's lasted this long, figured if he didn't quit the Rogers lackey's would have fired him by now.

No but he does the opposite. He ramps up his outrage for the purposes of TV. He's a pretty smart guy especially compared to most analysts but boy does he ever build it his persona and ham it up. He's at his best when he does in game analysis but when he's editorializing, his descent into self parody is painful to listen to.

Should we do another Jimmy Paredes over/under today? I have a feeling he's going to have a big game.

Why do you ask? Just do. Jimmy would approve

As has been pointed out many times before, he clearly wants to be the Don Cherry of baseball.

How does Zaun not know that this lineup will give the best players the most at bats , he says its a gimmik LOL

Pillar has the 2nd most AB's thats just silly , he has 16-20 more AB then then JD JB Tulo & Saunders .
