It's 80 games. Not a lifetime ban, nor a debilitating injury nor cancer. No need to cry about it on TV like your life is over. He'll be in Buffalo in July trying to earn back a roster spot where he would have been anyways after being DFA'd.

 

The "I would never, ever compromise the integrity of the game" really came off to me as "I would never, ever compromise the integrity of the game...any more than anyone else would". Upset that he got caught.

I don't feel sorry for him and I fully understand why he did it. 32 year old journeyman needs everything at his disposal to maintain a mlb job. His major league career is probably done but hopefully he made enough friends where he'll get a coaching job at the major league level.

Not for the Cola case, he brought it all on himself by his poor choice. His fake tears are not affecting me. There are many truthful/honest situations when I will feel empathy, this one isn't one of them.

Yeah. This doesn't reflect poorly at all on Colabello as a person. He's 32 years old, and gave up getting an education as well as ~13 years of experience in the job market. Every week he was able to cling to an MLB job is about 20K in income, for a guy with very little in career earnings relatively speaking, and likely bleak job prospects after retiring from baseball. A lot of people passing judgment would have done everything they could to maximize the amount of time spent on an MLB roster.

 

How exactly does his dog's medicine get into his bloodstream? Someone with a dog please explain. I see no logical way unless he was ingesting himself?
