Cheer up bros. As you know, Orioles fans are possibly the most bitter, grudge-holding, pissy, vindictive people on Earth. It's likely because the Orioles are a bottom 5 franchise, have an insufferable prick as manager and they have to live in Baltimore. They congregate at Orioleshangout.com, an Orioles homer echo chamber that we are not allowed to post on, and also a place where people pay money to post. Now that the Orioles have started out 4-0, I thought it would be a good idea to peruse the thoughts of these morons and select the most scrumptious excepts to post for many laughs.

On Dexter Fowler scorning the Orioles:

Are his chances of winning a WS with the Cubs really that much greater than they would be with the O's? We're not exactly chopped liver, especially with him on the team to complement our power hitters. And the NL Central ain't no cakewalk.

 

Maybe he should ask a Nats fan who bought 2015 WS tickets before the season started. Sometimes teams look like they can be penciled in to the WS on paper before any games are played, but disappoint.

 

With Fowler, I don't think the O's are all that much less likely to make the WS and win it than the Cubs, even on paper. Especially in the AL which is so much more wide open. As Buck always says, the playoffs are a roll of the dice.

 

I wish the Orioles were more flexible with Fowler's demands. You want an opt-out after one year? Fine we'll give it you but you have to meet certain statistical benchmarks (600 PA, 100 runs scored, .375 OBP, .800 OPS) to get the opt-out. A deal like that would make sense for both parties. Fowler's going to have put up a similar type of year anyway to get the money he's looking for and the Orioles would recoup the draft pick by making a qualifying offer if Fowler opts out.

Oh man I was filled with joy watching this go down. Gibbons whining about it to the ump was great, too. God they are just the worst.
- This is just a bit weird since Bucky S might be the whiniest manager in baseball aside from Mike Scoscia.

 

There is no player in baseball I despise more than Bautista. Not, ARod, not Ortiz, not even Papelbon. Very satisfying to watch that video.

 

It figures Bautista's a dirty player. TOR is a dirty ballclub.

- Yes, a lot of them are still butthurt over something that happened in an exhibition game 23 years ago.

 

Based on what you've seen...

If you made a win-total estimate for the Orioles before the season started... would you increase that estimate based on what you've seen so far? Or is it still too early?

 

And if they stay healthy, they've got a legitimate chance to pitch at least "pretty well." Plus, our bullpen looks to be its usual stalwart self. And Buck seems to have an extra bit of fire this year or something. He was screaming about balls and strikes tonight. Fantastic stuff.
- Not whining, though.

The things I've seen so far that give me hope;

 

- Hitters seems to be working the count more. Schoop struck on a 3 - 2 count looking (!!!!) tonight. Seems like the focus on working counts and getting on base Buck has been preaching is having an effect

- Wieters looks like he's going to be solid. He's had several fantastic at bats in clutch situations (the 10 pitch at bat against Archer in the 4th turned the game around)

- Rickard looks like he belongs here (so far) and his power has been surprising

- The top three starters have shown that spring training is meaningless and they still know how to pitch

- O'Day is still O'Day despite the big contract and bad spring

- Our bullpen should better than last year with the additions of Givens and Bundy

 

I'm concerned about whether Alvarez can handle the transition to DH, I don't like carrying a useless player on the bench (Kim) and want to see how Wright and Worley perform, but I'm thrilled with how things have gone so far.

- I will enjoy when SSS bites these idiots in the dick.

 

They are selling Joey Rickard Jerseys in the Orioles team store.

 

I hope this thread is enjoyable for everyone who needs to be reminded that Toronto fans aren't quite bottom of the barrel.

It's pretty funny how they continue to bash Bautista. Pretty sure he's never complained about being tagged to hard or tried to whip his bat at the pitcher

I'm so tired of people whining about national media outlets not giving the Orioles "respect." What do you want for a team that had to win 5 straight to finish 81-81 last year and didn't significantly improve itself over the offseason?

 

Maybe we do win the division, maybe we don't. But I just don't understand the incessant whining that goes on when something unfavorable is uttered by a sportswriter. There's always some perceived agenda. Do you guys really think Ken Rosenthal has an axe to grind over whatever happened in Baltimore over a decade ago? OMG KEITH LAW DOESN'T LIKE THE ORIOLES FREAK OUT NO WAYYYY

 

Maybe if this team drafted and developed better there'd be more favorable things to say. Maybe if our rotation was better there'd be a more optimistic outlook on the season. Maybe if our lineup had guys that got on base better we'd have a more consistent offense. Maybe we wouldn't be a joke if we weren't trying to send one of our outfielders back to Korea. It's not like there aren't any reasons to poke holes at this team. It's not impeccably well run by any stretch of the imagination.

 

Yesterday I posted that the OH is funny because we talk smack about this team every day like bratty kids talking about their parents but the minute something is said about our mom we're close to picking a fight. It's absolutely true.

 

But we've finally got what some people have been clamoring for awhile now. A big time payroll, a team "designed" to win now. Of course, why would anyone want to criticize this team?

 

I'd ignore a good post from there but he's just taking a huge dump on his favourite forum.

I've never seen it for real and not even seen a picture, but our former AAA club, Ottawa, they played baseball in April. BET that minor league team didn't have a dome. Grew their own grass somehow! Toronto can't?

What a perfect thread to have my first post of the 2016 season in. The O's always were easy to hate for a number of reasons....plenty of douchebag players, terrible manager that somehow tricks some people into thinking he's good, horribly run organization......but once you realize just how clueless their fans are it just elevates the hate and disrespect to a whole new level. Add the Nazi controlled message board and it's really the perfect storm.

Not enough people found it offensive that most people who know anything about baseball are still picking the Orioles to finish last after starting 4-0. Then the one guy had to go and drop a truth bomb and that is strictly prohibited. I imagine he was punished harshly.

The orioles do know that their first 2 series were against rather weak teams right. I ant to see Boston step on their f***ing throats
