Laika Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Maintained velocity all night too http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/speed.php?pitchSel=592717&game=gid_2016_04_05_tormlb_tbamlb_1/&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=&league=mlb&pnf=&zlpo=
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Maintained velocity all night too Improved stamina alone would be helpful if he's going to try and log 140-160 innings this year
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Improved stamina alone would be helpful if he's going to try and log 140-160 innings this year I really hope the jays aren't going to follow the archaic "innings limit" for yoing pitchers. It's flat out retarded. They should be treating each individual uniquely, not following some arbitrary guideline. If sanchez tires (velocity dip), skip a start. If it continues, time to consider a bullpen move or extended rest.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 thats just boxcar, he's always salty I just don't like idiots. I don't think that makes me different from anyone else, though.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 MiLB stats are misleading Lol. No they are not. You are aware he ws awful as a starter last year? Just like his MiLB. Something may have changed since then.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Buck and Tabby will tell us it's too fast to be effective @ 90 mph Maybe on another pitcher. Not Sanchez though. They are like a couple of fangirls.

Don't bother. Guy is thicker than molasses. He wants to triumph in "being right" (which equates to believing in ultimate success for every Blue Jays prospect ever and damn any evidence to the contrary) and then brag about it as if he could tell his ass from a hole in the ground.

If it continues, time to consider a bullpen move or extended rest. They have a bunch of data at their disposal so it would be naive not to use it. You can use the catapult system to see if he is fatiguing or not and since other players on the roster use it I'm sure they will put it on Sanchez too.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Imagine if he adds 20 pounds of muscle next offseason too! At this rate, he'll become Syndergaard. With that said, Thor himself has put on 20-30 lbs of muscle in the past couple years, so there may be something there I guess?

Syndergaard never walked 4+/9 guys at any level. Edited April 6, 2016 by Captain Adama

With that said, Thor himself has put on 20-30 lbs of muscle in the past couple years, so there may be something there I guess? These guys are maybe adding 3-4lbs of muscle but 20-25lbs in general. Schwarzenegger's biggest muscle gain in a year was ~25lbs.
Factz Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 One teeny-tiny difference... Syndergaard never walked 4+/9 guys at any level. Clayton Kershaw first two years in the bigs 4.3 BB/9 and 4.8 BB/9
93 Jays Verified Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Yeah well that's why I used the verb "seems". In any case, Sanchez never had a start like that before. The previous ceiling on a a Sanchez start was one where he spaced out the walks and babiped his way to not giving up runs. The ceiling has moved. How consistently will he reach the ceiling he flashed last night? We still have no idea. There's plenty of tests to come, particularly against patient lineups. For all we know, this will never be repeated but Sanchez showed something last night that he had never shown before and that's obviously a good thing. Potentially, a great thing. It's always been there. He's always had a well above average curve and fastball. Developing another pitch with the help of Stroman will only make him better. The problem hasn't been with Sanchez, it's been with the legions of know it alls around here who don't seem to realize that he's only 23 years old with limited MLB experience. Of course's he's going to repeat this start and much better. His stuff dictates that if he can gain some sort of command, he's going to get the better of his opponent 9 times out of ten
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Sanchez will never have that flow though http://www.sportsonearth.com/assets/images/3/7/8/154935378/cuts/GettyImages_493290798_7npirrpi_bdpvxw2m.jpg

I think it looks dumb and he looks HAF when it's short.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 dinger confirmed to be jelly and bald

I think it looks dumb and he looks HAF when it's short. You are the expert so you get 100% deference from me. I think Syndergaard's hair looks super luxurious like a shampoo commercial and also kind of regal but what do I know. For the record, here he is with short hair: http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/images/photos/003/535/831/905ae23ec508929a1a667d1d8b039099_crop_exact.jpg?w=1500&h=1500&q=85
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 OMG he's a late bloomer high school fatty! I mean don't get me wrong, obvs I would still bonezone him. I just think pretty much every guy who looks good with long hair would look better with short hair. I suppose long is ok if you want to pretend he's a pretty ladyboy or whatever floats your boat.
