Does anyone actually read Olerud's posts. These are the ramblings of a lunatic.

It always appears that way but you just have to understand there is a point to each post he makes it's just worded in ways you either like or don't.

haha yah like the last poster said they are weird but have a point in them. I personally like reading them lol

What? How? lol

It's really basic math. Tied with the Red Sox and if you think we are similarly talented with similar remaining schedules then put it at about 50/50. But you can't forget the Orioles who are a solid team and only a game back. Even if you don't really like them with this few games left they still have a 10% chance or so. Now we are down to 40%, less then a coin flip.

EDIT: My math was a little off, should have been 45% but the point still stands.

Sure but these numbers are constantly fluctuating. We can turn the odds back in our favour with a good week. I'm not overly concerned at this point.

Okay this is interesting. I like Bautista at DH and Upton playing OF.

Finally!!! That's a great looking line up, arguably as good as it gets?

I think it's good enough. He's got the right 9 players in there which is key.

This, the right guys are in there. The order of them is arguable but not terrible.

great lineup. Gibbons finally shakes things up big time. hope it works

Rather see Bautista leadoff and Saunders in the middle of the lineup with Travis towards the bottom but whatever.

I dunno, Saunders has been pretty mediocre for sometime now and has had a rough week.

why? Travis is a much better hitter than Saunders

That is demonstrably false. Saunders is obviously having a better year, and projects better than Travis.

This is solid. Not going to quibble. This is a lot of talent. Let's hope they can put some good ABs together today.

buuuuut Travis is a more dynamic leadoff hitter and his OBP since the 2nd half started is .341, I'd rather have Bautista's bat middle of the lineup than to leadoff. I want as many baserunners in front of the big 3 as possible

I think if the Jays had a solid young core it would be different... there is a feeling we are going to "Philly" fairly quckly at some point...

there might be 1 year before we "Philly".

we might "Philly by all star break" of next year

or maybe in spring training??

Or maybe it JUST happened. Maybe we phillied on the morning of Friday September 2, 2016. It just happed. The Toronto Blue Jays just Phillied!!!!

GODAMMMNIT!!!!! See you in 2022!

We're not gonna turn Philly because we're not gonna sign Bautista/Edwin/Saunders/etc. And we don't have Amaro in charge

Travis has a .256 OBP in the last 14 days while Saunders is at .393 if you want to go with the "who's hot argument'. Sure Travis is a little bit faster but like you said you want someone who is going to get on base in front of the middle of the lineup and Travis has a below average OBP. If anything he should hit lower in the lineup because he hits for a higher average.

I agree, Travis should probably be hitting 6/7

Is Joe Biagini a guy you consider for a possible starters role in the future? Or is he just a really lucky/and or good reliever that would be exposed as a starter?

Likely the latter

Trade Happ and Estrada in the Off season for ProspectZ

Add Biagini and Osuna to the rotation

We will need an innings eater so keep the Dickey

jays need to take the off day to lick their wounds after this road trip and get a bit of fight back into their offense. They get 2 nights in their own beds and home cooking. lets hope that's enough to get them back in a better form for Boston this weekend.
