The only thing he might have over Rasmus is a less attractive free agent pool to compete with and I'm not even sure about that because I've already forgotten what this year's FA class was like.

I think we could probably get Lind back pretty cheap.

He has ties to Toronto, and he was pretty awesome when he was here. I think his value is at an all-time low, and we could really get a bargain for 1B/DH.

It's pretty rare that big market teams get more than 1-2 years into a big FA deal and don't regret their decision.

 

I wouldn't be upset if the team flexed some financial muscle on a 7-8 year Donaldson extension though.

Had that 40, 40, 40 season last year and hit 40 hrs again this year. Is also showing strong K:BB rates and is supposedly playing good D at 1B. I'd take a flyer on Thames on a MLB deal.

Saunders - accepts QO

Benoit - re-signs for 1/4

Cecil - signs somewhere else for 2/12

LOL. Well, to be fair, the HRs he hits aren't exactly wall scrapers there. I think the biggest takeaway should be his K/BB ratio. He could have a Kang type transition which I'd love.

Haha yeah. He definitely could be on something. That said, he was still a brick s*** house when he played for us, and was never busted, so there's a chance .

The timing of the quote is related to the question being asked directly and the answer was basically that no they are not focused on re-signing these guys at the moment so what's the problem exactly?

I think his response if I take it correctly was inappropriate in timing and he could of had a No Comment answer. From a FA perspective it has to affect what your thinking in regards to your future, relationship with this team, and makes you wonder who you are playing for.......
