G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Even if that were true, how likely is it that this front office would acquire a player signed for that much until he's 40? They don't even want to sign Edwin and Jose because of their ages. They obviously place value on aging, as they should. I mean, it would be awesome to have Votto in the lineup for the next few years, but it's the last few years of his contract that are the problem, including a huge buyout at the end of it. 2016 32 Cincinnati Reds $20,000,000 2017 33 Cincinnati Reds $22,000,000 2018 34 Cincinnati Reds $25,000,000 2019 35 Cincinnati Reds $25,000,000 2020 36 Cincinnati Reds $25,000,000 2021 37 Cincinnati Reds $25,000,000 2022 38 Cincinnati Reds $25,000,000 2023 39 Cincinnati Reds $25,000,000 2024 40 Cincinnati Reds *$20,000,000 $20M Team Option, $7M Buyout
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Votto is great but DAMN that's a long contract
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Votto is great but DAMN that's a long contract Yeah I mean if the idea is to replace production from EE, you should at least try to sign EE for a smaller deal before contemplating taking on the Votto deak especially since it's doubtful that EE would lift his nose at a competitive offer from the place where he's had the most success. EE can realistically be signed (and by Toronto specifically) to a smaller deal than Votto's.

Also, he mentioned retiring if his skills don't play at a certain point. I could see him doing that at age 39 or so. Also.. thats sooooo far away 2023. It would just be so fun for like 4 or 5 years.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Tebow kind of looks like a young Tulowitzki (Face wise)

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Bau's production. What production?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Anyone else here been to Seattle for multiple days? I'm going on a trip to Vancouver next month but leaving from Seattle. There is a s*** ton to do around Vancouver but when I browsed on stuff to do in Seattle it seems...very boring. And I'm the outdoorsy type, but everything is very far (+3 hours away).

Can't really tell you what you can do up there up my sis use to go every year to catch ball games and she said that she loves Seattle.
leaffie Verified Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Dont know exactly what you like to do, but always have a great time in Seattle. Great shopping, lots of good restaurants and pubs. Theatre if you like shows. Seahawks game is always a fun time. They have two games in sept. Salmon fishing is great in september. You can get a fishing charter any day of the week. Pike's Place market is always fun. If you are staying downtown, it is expensive, but you can walk just about everywhere. If you have a car, Point Defiance zoo, is terrific. It is about an hour south of seattle.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 No Hector Santiago for the Jays/Twins series--scratched with a thumb injury. Pat Dean will pitch Friday instead.

It's just frustrating googling "Seattle Attractions" and all the results aren't actually in Seattle, but Tacoma, or far worse, 3 hours way in Mount Rainier..

It would be unfathomable if it doesn't but our offense seems to pick and choose pitchers it decides to take seriously lol. I guess we can just hope for the best.
VE2OH Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Wow, What an improvement with Barney at SB. Time to make Traves an outfielder he is no second baseman I don't care how good a batter he is he is a liability as long as he plays SB.!!!!!!
