Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 So how long until Devon Travis is back? Week and half? or 2 weeks? Doing Extended spring training now so i would say start of june would be optimistic.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 How long will this go on Goins war = -0.6 Barney war = 0.3 How long?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Doing Extended spring training now so i would say start of june would be optimistic. Can't come soon enough. Even if he's just worth 1 WAR in half a season he's going to be a massive improvement.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 It's been warm enough recently that they could sufficiently test it, so assuming the forecast doesn't change there's really no excuse to keep the roof closed either day. Night games cool off a lot by the lake so that is one reason why they usually only start to open the roof during afternoon weekend games to start the season. I doubt the roof would be open on a night game until the night lows touch 20 - 23 degrees.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Nice. The team's #8 prospect according to KATOH. Burns primarily plays second and third base, but has shown he can handle nearly every position on the field. With fringy power and overall hitting ability, he likely doesn’t have a future as a starting option. His overall kit and defensive versatility should make him a valuable utility man should he get the opportunity.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Nice. The team's #8 prospect according to KATOH. He's got some tangible experience all across the field too. Sad to say but he might be out best bench player.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Nice. The team's #8 prospect according to KATOH. He'll take his walks at least and can play pretty much every position on the field. Nothing special with the bat though, so really kind of a poor poor poor man's zobrist.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 O.K. Looks like the Jays will keep trying players with some positional value before they resort to Montero.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 roof will be closed the entire weekend
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Lmao at the roof being closed for tonight. Its gorgeous outside. Complete joke
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Lmao at the roof being closed for tonight. Its gorgeous outside. Complete joke I heard something to the effect that they're doing work on the stadium that requires it to be closed.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Worst part is tomorrow its supposed to be even nicer and it will be closed too.

Enjoy the game tonight, if a you catch a foul ball in my seats I will have a good laugh. Been sitting there for years and only had one close enough for a grab.

43211234 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I've heard there's the potential for problems opening/closing the roof when it's below ~10 degrees. Overnight low forecaste at 8 so maybe they don't want to risk it.

They have their built in excuse every year of "we're still testing it" but if that weren't an issue, then the temperature should never be the reason to keep the roof closed. It's an outdoor game and people can dress appropriately for it. This isn't really directed at you, but just a general annoyance about this.

Do you think there may be a reason for it??? Or is it just to piss fans off? I like the the rest of this board do not know much about what goes into prepping the roof or what not but my guess is maybe leave it to them because i am guessing they know more then you.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 ^ that's an okay deal but I'd only consider giving up Thole if they throw in Trout
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Was thinking about starting a Bullpen mgm thread as I was rehashing yesterdays gm in my head this am. Gibby is driving me insane. Storen is quickly working his way up the ladder for biggest reliever acquisition bust in Jays history - Claudill, Myers, CoCo, Francisco. Hon Mention: Gregg. Cant put BJ on this list as for part of his contract he was dominant before he broke down.
