This isn't a pre-order message. It is an email of the DLC you get after you receive delivery of the game.

I'll post a pic of the game in about 15 mins.

Lucky, I got it digitally so I have to wait until Tuesday.

You are in for a treat. Played a game today with the dome open and the lighting was amazing with the transition from evening to night.

Yeah 16 looks amazing with the added animations, improved commentary, and numerous other improvements.

I'm a big fan of the new fielding in RTTS.

What is it like playing with the dome closed? Is there any difference to the ball carrying better with it open/closed? I know there is a Coors effect but I wonder if they have other park effects in the game.

I've only played one game at home so far and I played with it open. I'll play the next game with it closed and let you know.

I'm shocked EB Games is still surviving with Amazon and Best Buy controlling the market. EB Games is awful - expensive, never put any games on sale, don't price match with Best Buy or other competitors, offer you nothing for trade-in, previously played games are almost the cost of new games, try to rip you off every time you buy a game by asking if you want to buy extra insurance for the game lol.

Unfortunately, they stay afloat based on the profit from those trade-ins. Digital games should eventually close many of the stores, they are supposed to be getting into retro game sales.

I'm not a fan of digital games. I prefer always owning the hardcopy. If I wanted to sell that game after playing it, you can't with a digital game. For example, I bought NHL 16 for $39.99 off Amazon back in November and since I've stopped playing it for a while, sold it to someone off kijiji for $40 - so basically paid like $5-6 in taxes etc. to play it for those 2 or so months that I did. I think digital games have their place (Steam) and on the PSN and Microsoft Stores when there are great deals available, though I will always look at buying a hard copy either on Amazon or at Best Buy.

EB Games might have to get into retro sales, though there are some vintage video game shops like A & C Games popping up, plus kijiji definitely has a market if people are looking for retro games. Also, the PSN & Microsoft Stores have started selling digital copies of older games. I don't think EB Games will survive any longer.

100% agree. I hate not being able to sell off Kijiji.

You're in the minority though. Most people can't sell used games for that price. Which is why digital is taking over, particularly (as you said) if there's deals.

How's the gameplay? Is there an appropriate amount of balls and strikes being thrown by the cpu?

Gameplay is great. I'm playing on dynamic difficulty and hitting is currently set at rookie so as of right now there are a lot more strikes being thrown than I want. I am not getting deep into a lot of counts and walking because of that.

I am currently using the fish eye view and I can judge depth pretty well and also the stadiums look spectacular though that perspective.

Depends on the game and when you sell it obviously. If its still $79.99 brand new at the stores, most people would probably pay $35-$40 for it used off someone Kijiji where EB games would charge close to $60 for a previously played game + tax. Like if I sold NHL 16 over the summer, I'd be lucky to get $15 - $20.

In the states we used to have a place called Funcoland. It was a chain store of both retro and current games. Everything month they would print a price list on newsprint of how much a game cost to buy and how much you'd get if you traded it in. They also had each of the systems available for you to try a game before you buy it. From my understanding about 15 years ago GameStop bought them out and got rid of the retro gaming aspect of the business. Now you see GameStop trying to get back into the retro game market but they have to stockpile inventory.

I miss Funcoland.

I think MLB 16 THE SHOW will be my last game played on my PS3... I'm thinking about getting PS4 around Black Friday or Boxing Day this year

I couldn't tell any difference with how the ball carries with the dome open/closed. The game now track exit velocity with every contact. Tulo had one tracked @ 114MPH off the bat, that is the best so far. The shifts are a lot more realistic. The CPU now crowds Bautista and Encarnacion with 3 infielders to the pull side. I really enjoy the presentation flyovers of the home city during the game in hybrid and broadcast mode. I am also going to call up Patt Venditte and see how the game handles him.

Bautista and Encarnacion are out for an extended period of time. Bautista has a head contusion and Encarnacion has a torn calf...lol

Reading stuff like this is really tempting me to go out and buy a PS4 and this game. I just don't think I'd play often enough to make it worthwhile. I bought '15 but it was a no brainier for $20 on the PSN and I've barely touched it..

I'm the same. I haven't touched video games since my son was born 5 1/2 years ago....he plays games on the iPad, but I haven't introduced him to the PS3 yet.

This game sounds awesome and my son loves baseball, but I still think it's best to keep him away from the PS3 for as long as I can...

I work next to a video game store and I'm always so surprised when father-aged men come out of it without children. All the parents I know barely have time to take a shower let alone play video games. I'm sure not all are dads but I see more 20-40 year old men coming out of the store than teens.

Yeah I'm that guy...only way I'll play video games again is when my kids get into it so I can play with them

I had Thole catching Dickey and Thole looks awesome behind the plate with his realistic catching gear and helmet..lol...they even have the Rawlings gold glove patch on Martin. Another thing I noticed is the catcher animations are awesome. They will stand up a bit for a high location and also setup inside and out around the plate. I don't recall the catchers doing that in the previous versions.

Based on the youtube videos it still looks like how it was last year. One thing I wish they would incorporate into the game is catcher framing.
