why do you think he has no power?

I wouldn't want to get into a fight with him, the guy is jacked. No loft in his swing, and I hope nobody tries to mess with it tbh.

Oh the douche bag RF is acting like a douche bag? Colour me unsurprised.

I'm still having a bit of trouble rekindling my fandom with this team, despite Shapiro's excellence. Kicking this dumbass to the curb would help though.

Not that anybody cares.

Didn't know you were lurking here

Is there a back story here?

Despite Shapiro's excellence? You have got to be f***ing kidding me. He just tried to trade Saunders and Pentecost for Jay Bruce. I'm going to give him a chance, but so far he's scaring the s*** out of me.

Am I wrong to assume that - assuming potential is reached - a future outfield of Pompey, Pillar, and Alford would catch all the balls? ALL THE BALLS!

not wrong at all.... it would be incredible

All except the ones that clear the fences by 5 feet or more

(I'm looking at YOU, JA Happ...)

Two is an easy choice for me. I'll take the best chance of winning with Bautista over the best chance of having him longer. I mean if the team didn't have Martin, Donaldson, Tulo et all, there would be a lot of money to sign Bautista forever but you might not have last year's playoff run or a very good team this year either so f*** that.

Yep, I want him to have a 2011 type of season and then ride off into the sunset with a World Series ring. Best case scenario.

They might even bank some catches for the next game, they'd be that good.

Which begs the question, has their ever been an outfield that had three defensive wizards on it? I'm sure there have been. But it'd still be special.

Did Griffey Jr. and Ichiro ever play together? Those are a couple of the best outfielders I've ever seen. Pompey, Alford and Pillar could be right there, IMO.

Also shittier at everything else offensively. Just because a guy can hit HRs doesn't make them a good player.

Well, first, that wasn't the question. It'd be a misattribution error to assume I'm tacitly implying he's great offensively on every level. For $2M, or whatever he's making, he can hit dingers. Not much else, although he took more walks last year than I expected. The question was, who would hit dingers. Oh, and I think he plays for better than league average defense.

That's weird you say that, cause he walked less than his career average last year.

I thought he was a slugger who never took walks coming into his tenure with the BJ's, but yeah, his career average is way better than I thought going into last season. But keep in mind that he's bound to get fewer bad pitches, given the elite nature of the batters in front on him. I think given that, I was surprised he took as many walks as he did. He seemed to take a lot of close pitches for balls. Ones that a free swinger (ala Rob Deer) would never have taken. With s***** Seattle, he may have actually been one of the hitters that was "unintentionally intentionally" walked a bit. So, in sum, I would say (again, without looking at numbers) that he received better pitches/at bat with the Jays than he has any other year previous.

Why are you bringing up his defense? Also, Smoak makes 4 million which isn't nothing.

Why not? If posters can imply that my initial post was more than about homers when it wasn't, I can include defense. Tit for tat.

Right, $4M. That isn't peanuts. I guess it's commiserate of his value. Versus, say, a JPA who can't seem to stick with a team. So, he's making 1/6 what JB will *maybe* make in 2017.
