G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I heard Steinbrenner Park or whatever it's called is really nice. http://www.milb.com/assets/images/3/0/0/66628300/Stadium_Shot_2_ihykkh8p.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EiTzLYZQOHo/R_Glxrf9OuI/AAAAAAAAABc/d7mMATXYK28/s400/Tampa4.jpg http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/nyy/images/spring_training/y2011/ballpark_400x225.jpg
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 f***. It's nicer than some MLB parks.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 What level of the Yankees farm system plays there?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I guess you've never played baseball before, at least as a child, else you would most likely like the smell. Lol
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I'm heading down on the 3rd and staying in Clearwater. I'm looking to check out a few different stadiums instead of just old crazppy Tire Exchange. I will be going to the Jays complex on the 4th vs the Orioles but will also be Checking out Kissimee the on the 6th for Houston vs Jays and then Phillies in Clearwater on the 8th. Anybody have a suggestion as to another facility to check out between the 3rd and the 9th? I was able to secure us flight, acommodation and car rentel for $1438 for the 3 of us in my group. The place we have secured is called La Quinta Inn and Suites in Clearwater South. Don't know much about it, comes with free breakfest for duration of stay and the customer reviews looked promising. La Quinta hotels are nice. I've stayed in many and enjoyed them all. Stayed in one in South Padre, TX for spring break last year. Good times
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 f***. It's nicer than some MLB parks. Funny because its actually nicer than the MLB park in the same city. Likely get better attendance there too.
Nafro Verified Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 So excited. Ordered my 2016 Blue Jays Schedule fridge magnets today, to give to clients!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Funny because its actually nicer than the MLB park in the same city. Likely get better attendance there too. That made me want to check LOL Yankees spring training games averaged 10,101 per game in 2015, 11,141 per game in 2014 Rays regular season 15,403 per game in 2015, 17,857 per game in 2014 Cubs and Giants spring training games average almost 15,000, very close to Rays reg season average
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Jays averaged 9,744 per game last year
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Steinbrenner field only holds 11,026 max. Less than I thought This angle shows you better how small the seating capacity actually is: http://www.steinbrennerfield.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/1369x387xSFpano.jpg
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Even with the smaller attendance they probably make more $ in attendance on a per game basis. Thats a really reall nice park
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Steinbrenner field (Yankees) and ESPN Wide World of Sports (Braves) are nice. Osceola County Stadium (Astros) is a s*** hole.
spats Verified Member Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 What level of the Yankees farm system plays there? High A ball..In the same league as the Dunedin Blue Jays ( Anthony Alford, Richard Urena, Mitch Nay there last year). Another beautiful park to visit is Brighthouse Field in Clearwater (Phillies).

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I don't understand the second image. That's not a picture of the Kansas City Royals, is it?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I don't understand the second image. That's not a picture of the Kansas City Royals, is it? Must be the Dunedin Blue Jays uniforms?

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 only 11 days left until the first televised game of the preseason. God I miss baseball! looking forward to seeing how our team shapes up this spring. everyone knock on wood and pray to the baseball Gods that we don't have any horrible sprinkle or staircase attacks on the team.

They'd still only fill half of it.

I hope we stay healthy. I just booked trip to TOR to catch LAD in town in May. I haven't been this excited for a season in a long time.

TilsonBritoFan Verified Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 God, listening to Buck today on Jeff Blair show was horrible. Arguing that Pillar should be leadoff hitter because it worked with Devon White and he didn't walk either. STFU Buck you dinosaur.

It would be like an engineer suggesting we install watermain made from wood (which yes, they used to do back in the early 1900's). Don't think people would pay us for those type of suggestions.

This and Devon White still walked a lot more then Pillar usually around the 7-8% mark where Pillar is around 3-4%

Doesn't mean it was right.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 This and Devon White still walked a lot more then Pillar usually around the 7-8% mark where Pillar is around 3-4% his OBP in 1992 was .304...it was pathetic. We all know why Cito batted him leadoff and it had nothing to do with his OBP.
Moo3 Verified Member Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I don't care who hits lead-off as long as he has the highest OBP at the end of the season (excluding 2,3,4) and is infront of the sluggers JD, JB, and EE.
