Anyone think we should bring Mike Mcdade home? Guy had some good pop. I don't see a compelling reason to completely write him off just yet, could be the next Bautista.

Oh FFS nobody is completely writing off Aaron Sanchez.

lol have you read half the s*** on this board about him? Most people would give him away in a heart beat.

cash in on a top prospect is different than give away. All most have said is that his trade value might be higher than his real value. The hatred that some have built out of it comes from having to defend why.

We all know that the Revere projection is completely absurd. Sometimes they are way out of whack for whatever reason.

Have you contacted fan graphs about this??

Stop with the s***. You are incredibly dishonest. If you have found a flaw in the system, point it out to fangraphs, get them to post the following here:

Dear Blue Jays Message Board

A poster of yours, Grant, an incredible genius has found a flaw in the Ben Revere projection. His insight have helped us improve the system.

If you have found a true flaw in the Ben Revere projection, by definition that knowledge can be used to improve the system.

And just to really emphasize what a horrible person you are... the wording here is just so mean spirited... so against human values....

"We all know", "Completely Absurd"... what you are saying here is that fangraphs has published a dishonest projection... you don't say "I think the projection might be wrong because of (insert complicated technical explanation here).

You say that the projection is absurdly wrong, that every single person knows it, but for some reason Fan Graphs (Steamer) won't modify their system. You are implying that the Steamer people are intellectually lazy, while you, Grant, are a true genius.

Does anyone think the Jays will be reluctant to put Osuna in the rotation based on his inverted W mechanics and the possibility it will prevent him from every becoming a durable starting pitcher?

You know an inverted W is called an M right?

It's times like these during which I wish I could figure out how to upload a GIF. If I could, I'd upload one of Michelangelo having his mind blown from the most current reboot of the TMNT movie.

I'm not sure about his mechanics but I do get the feeling that Osuna will remain a reliever and that Sanchez will start the year out as our 7th starter so we'll see something like this:

1. Stroman

2. Estrada

3. Dickey

4. Happ

5. Chavez

6. Hutchison (AAA)

7. Sanchez (AAA)

8. Diamond (AAA)

That's not terrible depth for a team that started out the offseason with 3 big league starters.

Hutch is starting

He is our second best starter who had a bad season

He's got a better career xFIP than Shelby Miller and is the same age. I think it's pretty reasonable to expect that Hutch can become a league average starter if given the opportunity.

We need him to have a good year so we can trade him for Dansby Swanson and Aaron Blair then.

This thought deserves more discussion.

Who is going to be our backup catcher? i"m fairly certain martin is not going to catch 162 games.

Thole will be fine. Could do worse than a LH hitter with good D.

Who cares that he's left handed? He's an awful hitter and a very bad baseball player.

Shapiro mentioning the lack of young SP's in AAA could mean Sanchez starting in AAA is an option. That would certainly be the smart thing to do for his development as a SP, as long as they feel comfortable with whoever is replacing him in the pen.
