raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Anyone thinks he could be a good fit?? After all, we do need a decent backup catcher that can hit (or simply hit better than Thole!!!). I don't think he will ask for more than $2M a year. I'm just not convinced sticking with Thole/Smoak/Colabello is most ideal.
raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 as in not a capable catcher? He just got moved to 1B last year ... and now playing winterball as a catcher again.... and this guy can hit HR's!!! Would you rather have Thole over Rosario?

He will probably be looking for s starting catcher gig. And will be given +3m so too expensive for Jays blood. We gotta find a guy that can catch a knuckleball.

It's like suggesting we sign Mike Napoli as our backup catcher...
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Rosario is a man with no position.... And technically he could catch but he is absolutely horrible.

Yes, the backup catcher first and foremost must be able to handle Dickey and knuckleball.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I have infinitely more faith in Colabello's ability to hit than Rosario outside of Coors. That coupled with Rosario's poor catching skills and inability to catch a knuckler, and he's totally redundant.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 sub .300 OBP last season. no thanks.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Rosario is garbage. As uninspiring as it is, we probably should just bring Smoak back unless there is some sort of trade to work out.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Bring him in as a DH candidate if he wants to take a MiLB deal but otherwise pass. Don't want to commit a roster spot to a project with no defensive value.

bendera3 Verified Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 A catcher who is horribly defensively who always plays first base, where we have at least 3 people capable of playing there. Pass.
raku1108 Verified Member Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 I wasn't suggesting the Jays gotta go after this guy... but he posted decent batting numbers last few seasons compared to Smoak/Thole.... and we can't say for sure Colabello will have a repeat of an impressive season.... also, as a backup catcher, you can't expect him to be near perfect right? how many costly errors had he made last season?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Not sure whether to call mods or call stupid? If you think he's trolling than message us. If you think he's stupid, then educate him. Me using you to get this point across is the only productive thing about your post.
