GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 no I'm saying mods can't stop the trolling so it's up to the f***ing posters to do it. Why can't anyone figure that out. Unless we want to become O's Hangout and have to go through fraternity type pledging to get membership, they are just going to start up with a new name. It's a bigger pain in the ass to stop them. If supposedly good posters just didn't respond...they would go away. I understand that trolls are supposed to draw people into bad discussions, it is what they do. However, it's easy enough to stop. The same 5 or 6 people are f***ing OBSESSED with identifying every new poster or potential troll. They can't help themselves. it's the same 5 to 10 posters every single time. So it's tough to get rid of the trolls...time outs for those that respond (I'm not talking about those that legitimately fall into the trap...I'm talking about those that respond knowing that it's a troll....LET IT f***ING GO. Dogg is supposed to be the biggest evil in the Blue Jay message board community and he's posted without any damage for over a year and half. We had exactly one reported post on him before people knew he was the Dogg...now RealAccountant gets a few a month. The problem at that point becomes the supposedly legit posters. I'm not answering this again. My next bannings are going to be for people who can't get my uncommon sense. Remember the MLB board when people stop responding to the trolls so they just spammed the s*** out of the forum? Fun times
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I wasn't knocking the Soo. But really there can't be a lot going on up there. As for Hamilton being a shithole, yep it is. Inept City Councils for over 100 years. And the City has this mentality that I hate, "the hand out, woe is us" But my family & job are here, and I hate commuting. Funny Hamilton story, I'm working on a fundraiser called Sophie's Run II. In the first run in 2008 she ran from Milton to New York City. She had to get permission from about 300 towns and cities to run through. New York City closed the Holland Tunnel for her...Hamilton was the one place that didn't give her permission to run through (Probably would have killed her anyway). She had to detour south.

Fun times we have control of that here. Seriously you people are like an abused puppy with their new owners. Don't worry guys...the nasty trolls aren't going to swat you with their online newspapers here.

I'd love to see the Jays more often, but the rest of my entertainment needs are met. Most of the musicians on national tours stop here, so I can see who I want and I like OHL hockey, so there's plenty of that. In terms of environmental sciences, we've got the most influential provincial and federal labs here in the Soo, so there's plenty to keep me occupied from an intellectual standpoint. Maybe I just got into that stuff because I'm from the North, but I'll never know.

Yes, as a Hamilton resident, the city is the armpit of Ontario imo. Nothing to see here.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 This shouldn't be surprising to anybody.

I'm glad Hamilton finally got an OHL team back, couldn't stand the AHL. The Hounds won 3-2, but they have a good young team. Many wouldn't find it fun, but I enjoy having the leading scientists in their respective fields here because you can attend lectures on some pretty cutting edge research. I'm sure it's the same for computer and technology nerds in Toronto.

King was there an original listing of teams that bid? Is there a breakdown on who's left?
Ehjays Verified Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 King was there an original listing of teams that bid? Is there a breakdown on who's left? I'm gonna guess the Pirates, I know they have Alverez but he only has 1 year left and they did well with Kang
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Pirates... I'm gonna guess the Pirates, I know they have Alverez but he only has 1 year left and they did well with Kang Aw yeah!

King Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Twins or A's for me Twins Sano - 3B/DH/LF Mauer - 1B
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Twins Sano - 3B/DH/LF Mauer - 1B Sano told me yesterday that he will play 3B and LF next year. He's playing at DWL in the 3B and OF

He's playing at DWL in the 3B and OF http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_29082693/twins-pushing-miguel-sano-play-outfield-during-winter The large man will be terrible in the OF. Twins are dumb
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Sano in LF does not seem like a good idea.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Sano in LF does not seem like a good idea. It's hard to believe he was signed as a potential MIF. Definitely not LF. I remember when we tried Delgado there. Should be about the same.
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Sano in LF does not seem like a good idea. I think it's fine for him to learn the position for versatility but if he spends too much time in LF next season it will hurt the team. They should let Sano have reps at 1B this winter and rotate Mauer/Sano/Plouffe through 1B/3B/DH next season.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 The versatility is fine, but Sano in LF for an extended amount of time doesn't seem like a good idea. Especially once you consider who would DH instead. Let him play on the road vs NL teams.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 It's hard to believe he was signed as a potential MIF. Definitely not LF. I remember when we tried Delgado there. Should be about the same. He probably helped lead a lot of fantasy owners to championships with that SS eligibility.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 No idea who won this (because why would I) but this whole posting system is really silly. not sure I'd say that it's silly. it's the way the rest of the world moves assets from one team to another. so everywhere in the world, except north america, does it this way.... They all think our way is lame. lol
