It's probably easier playing minor league ball for a few years while concentrating on building relationships with various departments and then quiting once something pops up. If you havent noticed by now, pro sports are always hiring internal guys, looking out for their jock buddies, etc.

one thing i never figured out is whereas both reynolds and steve phillips were at espn when they were also known as melrose's place, reynolds eventually ended up with the prime-time gig and phillips is still floating; what's up with that??

Phillips affair for whatever reason hit the main stream. I bet a lot of people aren't even aware of Reynolds'.

Have to admit I don't recall the Reynolds part of the story at all.

The job is always up, I don't know how often I guess they hire a guy for 4 or 8 months. I'm guessing the pay is s*** and the hours are awful, but would be an interesting experience for sure

They have this same posting every fall/winter

I got to round 2 for this position 4 years ago, but I think pretty much everyone does.

Then they looked at your gambling success.

If the BlueJays were smart they'd save themselves some interview time and just watch this board for a while. They could find 100's of candidates...and by that I mean 4.

I would apply for this position but I wouldn't want to get scolded on my first day for trading my granola bars and Snackpack for a lunchable

You made me laugh, I guess now we know what you do for a living.

He hugged an intern... what kind of hug is up for debate. Google "Harold Reynolds, hug, intern" to find out more.

Reynolds claims it was an innocent hug. In 2006 when money ball and plate discipline was still mainstream Harold saw a guy swing at the first pitch, he got so excited he hugged an intern. Then he was fired. Mostly true.
