Remember when that one poster said Stroman wasn't a lock to make the team.....

I still don't think he's a lock. If his last 2 spring starts are bad, he could start the season in AAA. Sanchez could nab his rotation spot, he's been very good this spring.

He only made the team because Brad Penny retired.

Apparently Stroman might be pushed up to start the home opener.

Stroman won't face Price anyways, because Boston only has 3 games in their first series while we have 4.

Gibby really seems to be leaning towards naming Sanchez as the 5th starter, he even used him as an example in that Stroman - opening day video.

I've never thought of it that way. I'm pretty sure it was Pat Tabler who said "it ain't over till it's over"

LOL. I got a pop up notification from Sportsnet with his name in it and I panicked until I loaded the story. Phew.

I'd like to hear Gregg Zaun admit he was wrong about Stroman

"Too short to be a starter. Not enough downward plane. Etc."

In all honesty, there is still a chance he would fail sometime in the near future. Romero was an ace too...

Obviously they are completely different but you just never know and it's too early to tell.

Unless Stroman loses like 5 MPH of velo I have a hard time seeing him fail. Stroman has succeeded at every level while Romero was pretty bad coming up through the minors. He was good for a couple of years but his mechanics went to crap.

He wasn't even "that good" in his best years. In his 2.92 ERA year, for example, he had a 4.20 FIP.

I think with Romero it was a lot of deception and the hitters started figuring him out. His stuff was never ++ so i don't really know where that early success came from.

Reverse splits and luck.

I have to admit, I am worried about the rotation, and I can see Stroman having an uneven year to be honest, a lot riding on him and he has yet to go an entire season in the big leagues, would love to be wrong though. The offense should be good enough to keep us in the race though.

That FIP seems like the best FIP.

Stroman is a "sui generis", a special small guy, a super athlete. Dont be worry about him, he will be ok. Sanchez (Walks), Estrada (Dingers) and Floyd (health) are the question marks, but our depth.

Happ and Dickey are solid #4 SP.

The feeling I get from Stroman,is the same warm feeling I got from Russell Wilson in his rookie year,

and we all know how that turned out.:o

Better then the ways we have been loosing i guess.

Bases loaded 2 outs Donaldson up but we won't use him we want to surprise them so we pinch hit Collabello. Then we are surprised when it does not work.

ugh, flashbacks on that amish idiot catching that HR ball and Gibbons pinch hitting navarro with runners on the corners and no out in game 6......how did they f*** that up with pompey on third again?

Navarro pinch hitting was a good move... The umpire f***ed us over with some favorable calls to Wade Davis. A big thing too is that Cain should have been gunned down at the plate in the 8th by Tulo, but he made a terrible throw.

And Jose shouldn't have thrown to the wrong bag????

I know...just a tough loss, it was there for the taking last year. Up 3-0 in game 2 as well and blew it. I would rather kept goins and tried a suicide squeeze, but yeah the ump kind of f***ed us there too, as well as Jose's throw, and tulo's throw. Geez a lot went wrong/.

KC was super lucky, there's no way they weren't going to win last year.

No doubt, they got many breaks in the series the Jays never got any. Seems everything they hit too late in games would find holes. They came back on houston too.
