For some reason the media thinks Tulo will be traded. Get the feeling Tulo really doesn't like Toronto and would rather live in the southern US, but at the same time you can't just trade him and go into the season with Ryan Goins as your starting SS.

 

Yeah I've been hearing this s*** as well. I suppose anything is possible, especially since Shapiro didn't sign him but I don't trust Goins to be the starting SS at all.

FA market is very strong. I wonder where Kazmir is going to end up. I would love to get a duo of Kazmir and Estrada for example.

I agree. Our team took off when we anchored it with Tulo/Goins MIF. Tulo/Travis is even better.

 

When we lose Edwin and/or Jose Tulo (if he can be that 5 WAR player again) becomes even more important.

Then we flip one or two of the arms we received not named Walker if possible, plus whatever!

Possible Rotation Stroman,Archer,Walker,Osuna ? Then you resign Price, show him the Money!!!

 

That Rotation should buy you enough time to restock the minors alone and help you win now also.

For some reason I think that's exactly what's going to happen. Dump Tulo's contract and hope for 2-2.5WAR from Goins.

Have I missed something about Tulo? Has he said he doesn't like Toronto? A lot of people keep saying he doesn't like it. He might not be into Toronto life the way Stro/Sanchez/Goins are, but that does not necessarily mean that he doesn't want to be here.

 

I don't get this either. It's highly unlikely he gets moved.

I heard it on a podcast, can't remember the name. Jon Morosi kind of backed it up but it sounds like crap really. As long as the Jays have a winning team Tulo will be fine.

there was a piece by zwellin's sit-down with him in the KC clubhouse after Gm 6. The whole bit about how he "never felt comfortable" the entire season.

 

the other was a piece by brunt who i guess is well respected that said out of the core, tulo was the one that may be moved...

 

it seems tulo is not only frangile physically but the real sensitive type too

hmmmm.....maybe. But that's a big stick gone for 2017 when we lose other big stick(s). Gotta trust in Shapiro to make the right call on these things and balance it out.

Tulo can be a 7 Win player. He is Elite.

 

He could have a couple of elite seasons left in him. His career WAR max is 5.6

 

Realistically, we are looking at a guy that will be on the field at the frequency of Reyes, which limits his WAR total. 4 WAR is what can realistically be expected, and even that may be optimistic

He had career year and put up a 84 wRC+. Pretty good bet he goes back to being a terrible hitter next year like he was his entire career.

 

Tulo might rather live closer to his Las Vegas home but the Jays can't just trade him because he didn't feel the most "comfortable". I think with a full offseason and starting off with the Blue Jays he will feel much better about living in Toronto since he won't be living out of a hotel this time around. One of the main reasons he wanted out of Colorado was the chance to be on a World Series contender. Well in the short term he has that here in Toronto.

Is it safe to assume that some of the same people who do not want Price signed, want Heyward signed for similar money?

 

If so, how does that even make sense? Our biggest need is pitching, not OF help. And Price is a top 10 pitcher. Heyward is not a top 10 position player. Not even close.

Well if it came down to Trading Tulo for a 3 WAR SP I'm keeping Tulo and signing a FA SP. There are a lots of SP on the market but really aren't any good quality SS that you can replace Tulo with.
