burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I feel for the Jays players doing these interviews. Has to be so hard to do these mandatory interviews just minutes after losing the biggest games of their lives.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Could not get on the board for a half hour. But that disastrous makeup call f***ed us. Embarrassing MLB. I sadly predicted it.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 we're a patient team. All of a sudden getting strikes called against us 5 inches off the plate sucks, when they weren't called all game. Still should have found a way to put the ball in play somewhere.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 They always choke with RISP. It's not just this inning. They've been doing this the whole ALCS. At one point, this will f*** you. Questionable calls by the umps but whatever. If you can't score with a motherf***ing runner on 3rd (one of the fastest on the team) with NO OUTS then you don't deserve to go to the WS.... Navarro is s***.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Here is what also bothers me, with 2-1 counts both those balls were outside, yes, but both were f***ing hittable. Navarro and Revere could have both made contacts on those pitches.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Yeah Gibbons did a pretty good job managing. Navarro has a high contact rate. You really wish those 2 strike calls didn't impact the game the way they did but at the end of the day they still had lots of chances. Do you know who Wade Davis is? This is a high strike out guy. Get to 2 strikes and the at bat is over

I really felt it for Revere watching his blowup in the dugout after his strikeout... he must feel so, so awful, and cheated at that.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Im sure their millions of dollars is ready to comfort them. Yeah. I think it hurts us more as middle class fans with no trophy wives/gfs hahaha
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Pretty hard to put the ball in play when they're calling stuff way off the plate for strikes. There were some missed opportunities in the game for sure but those two ABs were sabotaged by the ump. Can't really blame Navarro and Revere especially Revere who had a great f***in' game. ^ this. Davis is hard enough to hit as it is, but when he is getting 2 strikes on you with help like that there is a reason decent contacts hitters cant score a runner from 3rd with nobody out. Revere was excellent today. We got a call off Volquez. But the timing of these ump f*** ups was in an absolutely critical situation. Great season overall but I'm hurting. Argh.

BJsFans Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 It took 7 years to go from zero to World Series the first time round. Let's enjoy being 3rd of 30 teams in 2015, and improve on what we lacked this season to take another run at er next year this time. Hopeful Rogers got the message and is ready to invest in this team over the winter.
S33n Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Too many poor plays. The homerun, the poor calls by the umps. Taking Price out for Sanchez. Goins can't f***ing bunt. And yes, similar story for most the year, inability to manufacture runs when needed. Guy on third with no outs and you can't f***ing score, what a f***ing joke. You don't deserve to be in the WS if you can't produce in a situation like that. As much as I want to blame only the umpires, this post hits the nail on the head. It was a combo of both, what a joke.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Horrible f***ing way to end the season. It would've been less heartbreaking if Martin-Pillar-Goins woulda just struck out one after the other

That's true but those extra strikes to Navarro and Revere put them down to 2 strikes each time, that has an effect on the team. Donaldson couldn't too much with what he had left But we should have done more earlier, for sure.

Get to 2 strikes and the at bat is over that's why all these people that say navvy and revere choke - i don't know if they are just trolling, PO or just don't understand baseball; u get those called strikes against a guy like Davis and it's game over; i'm sorry i can't put what happened in the 9th on the jays; yeah maybe earlier and JB missing the cutoff but no way in the 9th; for some reasons, the ump decided to put the games into their hands; i don't get that at all
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 ^ this. There's absolutely nothing worse than losing when it isn't decided by the 9 men on the field. Sure they could have done more, but you expect a level playing field. Absolutely gutting. I would have rather lost 10-0 in a legitimate game.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I really felt it for Revere watching his blowup in the dugout after his strikeout... he must feel so, so awful, and cheated at that. Me too man. I was pissed off just like he was.

827 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Im as pissed at those strike calls as the next guy, but imo this series wasn't even close. Jays shoulda won this thing easily, every single game they did their best to lose the series; in the end, they did just that. Gave the damn thing away.

Yeah you hate to have a bad homerun call and a weirdly expanding strikezone make a difference in a game like this.
Streetor Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 f*** this s*** let's all book flights to Kansas and burn the Bitch to the Ground!!! Or do lunch!!! Lol Just a tip before you go....take a geography class as the Royals play in Missouri not Kansas.
Atlas Verified Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 A team that can't score with RISP, can't score with a runner on 3rd and no outs, and the over-whelming majority of the time (in the entire regular and post-season) can't execute basic, fundamental baseball, is going to get burned and deserves the fate they play themselves into. They went as far as they deserved. The team that played better baseball won. That being said, the organization that takes a team that loses it's ace, and left-fielder in spring traing, then their rookie of the year candidate infleder soon after, is 8 games out come the All-Star break...BUT...then makes the moves and the team goes on to end a 22 year playoff drought by playing exciting, meaningful late season, WINNING baseball, wins the division by 6 games, and comes within 2 games of the World Series? They deserve a lot of thanks and praise too. GO JAYS!!!!!! Opening Day 2016 can't come fast enough!

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I will maintain that we needed Home Field Advantage here. We won 2 out of 3 at home, and only lost the one game Dickey pissed in the garbage. We didn't win a single game at Kaufman. Home Field Advantage was f***ing Huge.
