Stroman has been our best pitcher since he returned and he IS starting on his regular 4 days Wednesday, so what's the problem again?

The jays were starting to get to Gallardo in game one, hence the early yank by the Rangers. Hamels was better in game 2. That's the guy I would start if I was Bannister. Plus you have Gallardo in the pen ready if Hamels blows chunks.

 

I remember he ended the 5th by getting our best hitter to strike out and ground out.

From our perspective, I think Hamels is the more ideal. For them, I think it's a toss-up. Yeah Hamels is the better pitcher than Gallardo no doubt. From a match-up point of view, Gallardo has owned us. I think I read/heard something during Game 1 that the Rangers think sooner or later, the Jays hitters are going to make adjustment against Gallardo. Maybe that's the reason...

 

Either way, I could just hear the debate and rage now over in Rangers land about how stupid Bannister is for starting Hamels and Gallardo.

My gut tells me we're going to bitch slap Hamels. Of course I have the gut of a massive Jays fan, but I think game 5 will be one where we get an easy win and beat up on the jackass that didn't want to pitch here.

Look at it this way, from a rotation pov, if you save Stroman and Price for Game 5, neither could pitch until Game 3 of the ALCS.

 

Now look at it from a rest perspective. If Price starts Game 5, Stroman pitches Game 1 on 7 days rest (may not be as effective). If Stroman pitches Game 5, Price pitches Game 1 on 8 days rest (has proven to not be as effective).

 

With today's move, Price and Stroman can start Game 2 and 3 in order, on their regular 4 days rest each. It's a great move and anyone questioning it doesn't see the big picture.

The other interesting bit was that Gibbons said Price is not available on Wed which is what's being circulated. However Price did not rule that out. He's going to go out and do his normal stuff the day after a start and see how he feels. He is definitely leaving it open

 

With Loup back and Price being hit pretty good, maybe Price becomes the situational guy...

From Texas' perspective, you gotta go with Hamels' playoff (and in general) experience. Gallardo has been great vs. us but we showed signs of getting to him near the end of his start in game 1 and Bannister was correct in pulling the plug early. You can only trust in him so much IMO.

what's bad about her is that she is trying to stir s*** up... She has already concluded that the reason why Dickey was pulled early was because Gibby doesn't his knuckler. She tried that with Gibby and got no where so the first thing Dickey gets is essentially "why doesn't your manager trust your knuckler.
