Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Stop blaming Refs, Replays...Jays have s*** the bed and lost focus in the playoffs, they have no one to blame but themselves. What's a foul ball? What's a balk? What's an umpire?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 The roof being close for game 2 was BS. No chance of rain until late at night... I wanted it open too and was there. It was hot in the RC and I like the open dome atmosphere. But I don't think there has ever been a playoff game with it open. MLBs call on that is consistent. Their explanation was wind and temp. Whatever. The "dome" is open today.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Yeah, it's a shame the Jays had to bat with the roof closed, while the Rangers got to bat with it open. Wait, they both played under the same conditions? Then what the hell are we talking about???
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 Today we're getting a vary favourable zone, the total opposite of what we had with Carapazza. Obviously I'm not upset at this, but I could completely understand if Rangers fans were. There should be enough good umps to find consistency in the postseason and we're not seeing it at all.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Holy crap, some of these called balls against Texas are insane http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/fastmap.php?pitchSel=all&game=gid_2015_10_12_tormlb_texmlb_1/&sp_type=3&s_type=7 http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/fastmap.php?pitchSel=all&game=gid_2015_10_12_tormlb_texmlb_1/&sp_type=2&s_type=7

I'm surprised he wasn't more visibly upset.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Maybe Robinson Chirinos' fault. He's been one of the worst framers in baseball in the last two seasons, according to BP. Minus ~60 strikes, ~9 runs.

The difference between him and Martin, even with the knuckler, is quite distinct.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Another terrible call there on Ohlendorf. Chirinos made something down the middle look like it was easily outside. He's very bad!
