GDT (1/5 if necessary): Rangers @ Blue Jays [Gallardo v Price] Oct 8 - 3:37 pm

Exactly. And Texas's rotation drops off after Gallardo. Hamels has been awful vs. the Jays, Perez is mediocre, and we've clobbered Holland/Lewis.

Hamels is a drop off from Gallardo what? Thats why winning this game was key because we get Hamels tomorrow.

NL teams, any AL examples?

Yankees came back from a 1-0 series defecit in 1996 against the Rangers (6-2 loss). They ended up winning the series 3-1 along with a world series.

The only situation that probably should've been handled differently is how Buehrle's 200 inning threshold was reached. We lost because of an Osuna blown save in the second game of the Tampa series and won the first in a comeback after being down 3.

Way to not answer the question. Once again, name a time a team that was #1 in the league and had a chance to clinch it totally laid off the gas pedal and lost it?

The Blue Jays still have a good chance of winning this series since they are the better team. Now that they got their feet wet in game one with many players who haven't played in the playoffs before, I think they will just go out tomorrow and play the way they have since the All Star break.

No matter what happens, it will be an entertaining game with Stroman pitching tomorrow.

Talking about the double-header handling here.

I'm talking about everything.

Sitting the 2nd game was a no brainer.

But going with that joke lineup the next day? Wasn't a fan of that.

Skipping Price's last start? Wasn't a fan of that.

Doesn't matter. They'll have you take a page out of Donaldson's book. "This is the 'get it done' league."

Except how did they lay off the gas pedal exactly besides the strange handling of Buehrle/etc. in the final game (which wouldn't have even f***ing mattered by that time since KC ended up winning)?

If we're concerned about the past records so much, and I'm not sure why, then the last three times our very own Toronto Blue Jays lost a game 1 in the playoff series, we went on to win Game 2. For the 1992 ALCS and WS we actually won three straight after that game 1 loss, which in a 5 game playoff situation would have won us the series right there.

If we lose tomorrow we have more reasons to panic, but not really on just one loss.

My favourite moment from Only Generals Die in Bed occurred when the few surviving soldiers of the regiment huddled around a small campfire in the rain, picking lice off their bodies and eating vermin infested food and one of the soldiers looked around the muddy trenches and said "We volunteered for this...."

Resting price for 11 days? Resting stroman for 8? Not throwing out our best lineup everyday until we had it clinched?

Well, he is a dropoff. History favors the Jays. We've hit him hard.

How exactly? Besides some turbulence with a poor sample size against the Jays?

Why do you need him to fellate Stroman?

You can tell it really irks him to have to say anything positive about Stroman. You can see him struggling with his words to try and give him back handed compliments. He's probably pissed that Stroman came back, proved him wrong, and bumped Buerhle from the playoff roster.

Maybe Gibbons rested the players because they were really banged up.

We wont know until after we win the world series.

This is the only explanation that makes any sense to me at this point. Kansas City certainly thought it was worthwhile avoiding Texas and getting homefield advantage, especially given the flak Yost took after resting his regulars for only one game against Cleveland.

Banged up or not you don't wave the white flag when you're leading the race for top spot in the AL.

If we find out that price was rested because he was banged up, then fine.

If he wasn't, then it was a ridiculous decision and the manager, even assuming the GM was involved, should be held responsible..

Its tough because if they were banged up pretty bad(JD was),that series in Balt was terrible weather, and he didnt want to risk more injury.Tampa is where we got f***ed.

I,m speculating, but i,m pretty sure we will find out after winning the world series that Price was generally tired because of how deep he was going into games for us,and how much Detroit was counting on him up until the trade deadline to keep the Tigers in the race.
