If he tried using the high fastball he would, but if he didn't, maybe not?

The high fastball is actually a weapon of his since his fastball has the lowest vertical drop I believe. His biggest problem is that when he misses by a little it's a meatball.

With Keuchel only sitting at 87 pitches, they better make him work here, or he may go 2 more.

Altuve is a stud. A hitting baseball stealing stud.

Altuve is just a good ballplayer. He makes things happen in every way a player can make things happen.

You might say...Altuve is a professional baseball player.

Precisely, and with such a high fastball clobbering team like Houston, I wouldn't even risk it. Low fastballs, working corners with the cutter, and low bottomless change-ups would be how he could be effective.

I can certainly agree with all of this. However, I do still think that Estrada against this lineup would be very risky given how prone he is to the longball. If he did everything that you suggested, he could succeed, but he's the type of pitcher that will have a few mistake pitches, and his stuff would be very hittable for a lineup of this caliber.

That's certainly a very fair point. Well made kind sir! You are correct, his stuff doesn't play well enough to mitigate the damage from his mistakes against a team like Houston, especially if Navarro had him pitching the same game plan.

Personally I'd probably go Price, Stro, Dickey, Estrada in that order in a series like that. I could see Dickey messing with their timing a bit.

Why is Refs getting AB in a late inning close game?

Who else are they going to play? Plus he's actually a pretty decent hitter.

Well, cheers to you Astros, and AJ, that move paid off! I stand corrected. Sipp did well.

So do teams hang banners or flags for being a Wild Card team even if they lose the play-in game?

I understand why some might, but honestly... they're celebrating fifth place. You're the fourth place loser.

That would be pretty pathetic TBH.
