Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 If he tried using the high fastball he would, but if he didn't, maybe not? The high fastball is actually a weapon of his since his fastball has the lowest vertical drop I believe. His biggest problem is that when he misses by a little it's a meatball.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Astros have played a flawless game to this point. Perfectly executed so far.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 With Keuchel only sitting at 87 pitches, they better make him work here, or he may go 2 more.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Altuve is a stud. A hitting baseball stealing stud. Altuve is just a good ballplayer. He makes things happen in every way a player can make things happen.

Low fastballs, working corners with the cutter, and low bottomless change-ups would be how he could be effective.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Keuchel out. Questionable decision.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Keuchel should have gone 1 more inning IMO
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Dumb decision by the Stros, could come back and burn them here.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I like this. Keuchel was on short rest, and Houston has some very good arms back there.

Low fastballs, working corners with the cutter, and low bottomless change-ups would be how he could be effective. I can certainly agree with all of this. However, I do still think that Estrada against this lineup would be very risky given how prone he is to the longball. If he did everything that you suggested, he could succeed, but he's the type of pitcher that will have a few mistake pitches, and his stuff would be very hittable for a lineup of this caliber.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I keep expecting Gibby to walk out and bring in Sanchez

That's certainly a very fair point. Well made kind sir! You are correct, his stuff doesn't play well enough to mitigate the damage from his mistakes against a team like Houston, especially if Navarro had him pitching the same game plan. Personally I'd probably go Price, Stro, Dickey, Estrada in that order in a series like that. I could see Dickey messing with their timing a bit.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 That one guy was having way too much fun doing the "bird".
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Why is Refs getting AB in a late inning close game?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 This game has been a nice Baseball game, look at the emotions from Sipp!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Jason Castro is putting on a clinic behind the plate.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Eat s***, Yankees! This is so gratifying.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Why is Refs getting AB in a late inning close game? Who else are they going to play? Plus he's actually a pretty decent hitter.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Wow. I thought they were going to have Sipp on the ropes there. What a way to battle back.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Well, cheers to you Astros, and AJ, that move paid off! I stand corrected. Sipp did well.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Why is Refs getting AB in a late inning close game? Especially with Ellsbury on the bench
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 So do teams hang banners or flags for being a Wild Card team even if they lose the play-in game? I understand why some might, but honestly... they're celebrating fifth place. You're the fourth place loser.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Especially with Ellsbury on the bench Ellsbury kind of sucks now.
