Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Sportsnet and the Bisons really need work out some kind of TV deal. Sportsnet has so much BS low viewership programming. All the Bisons games should be on TV especially when the Jays aren’t playing.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I can't imagine the Bisons games would be any different.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I can't imagine the Bisons games would be any different. Yeah hard to see Bisons games getting much viewership
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 The crap programming they show is low cost filler.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Or, you know... pay the few bucks for MILB TV? I had it a few years ago. Quality was absolutely butt cheeks when I tried to use it with my TV.
spats Verified Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Jacob Sharp with another good night in Vancouver, 2 for 3 with a HR and double.
metafour Verified Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Moves of note: - RHP Jake Bloss joins Buffalo, expected to make AAA start this Saturday. - SS Josh Kasevich has been promoted to Buffalo - OF Dasan Brown has been promoted to New Hampshire
metafour Verified Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Jacob Sharp with another good night in Vancouver, 2 for 3 with a HR and double. Jacob Sharp since being acquired: .316/.409/.842 with 3 HR's in 6 games (2 walks, 2 strikeouts).

metafour Verified Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 More new draftees making their debuts in Dunedin today. 4th rounder Nick Mitchell had a standout game: 2 for 3, HR, BB, K Sean Keys: 1 for 4, 2 K
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Jake Bloss made his debut for the Bisons tonight. He went 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits (one being a bunt single) and one walk with a couple K's. Threw 32/50 pitches for strikes and was pulled due to a pitch count limit.
The_DH Verified Member Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 tighter pitch count than I would expect.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 tighter pitch count than I would expect. I think his last game action was July 23. Easing him back in is probably a decent plan
The_DH Verified Member Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Looks like he's averaged about 5.5 innings per start this year in the minors not including the Buffalo start. That sounds pretty good. Fingers crossed for him.

When your two best, and only top 100 prospects go from: 1) #2 starter potential down to if they become a back end starter you'd be happy with it now 2) PED suspension It's going to be rough as hell. Getting anything at all from RT is now the hope. He went from his 50th percentile outcome being at least a starter to his 50% outcome being a mediocre reliever and that may be me being hopeful. We could see him in the fall league next year if things go ok. And then being built back up. From a 2024 potential arrival to 2026. We need this years draft class/a couple of the pickups from the deadline/next years draft class to all hit to take us into an above average farm system.

RT is now on the Nate Pearson development track my expectation is that he gets called up, kind of sucks, gets hurt, provides basically nothing for a couple more years, and then ends up as a promising but frustrating reliever. Hopefully he can get off that track and just became a 5 and dive SP once he is back healthy, or a closer.

Any promise I have for him is to become a shutdown RPer.
metafour Verified Member Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Nimmala tonight: 3 for 5, HR, 2B He hit 3 balls over 100 mph (105.1, 102.0, 100.3).
Ray Verified Member Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Arjun Nimmala since he got recalled from the Developmental List: 34 games - .263/.331/.617, 10 HR, 165 wRC+ K-rate is still high at 30%, he's really made some incredible strides since those adjustments.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Pipeline ranked the Orgs, has Jays quite low... I was thinking they'd be at 20ish 24. Toronto Blue Jays 2024 preseason rank: 24 2023 midseason rank: 25 2023 preseason rank: 25 2022 midseason rank: 20 Top 100 prospects: None Orelvis Martinez’s PED suspension and Ricky Tiedemann’s Tommy John surgery mean the Jays will be without two of their best preseason prospects in the second half, and injuries to pitchers Adam Macko, Kendry Rojas, Landen Maroudis and Brandon Barriera have further taken the shine off in ’24. On a positive note, Toronto was aggressive in bulking up the system at the Trade Deadline and earned praise for picking up prospects Jake Bloss and Will Wagner from the Astros, Jonatan Clase from the Mariners and Charles McAdoo from the Pirates in particular. That has buoyed the system for now, and maybe strong 2025s from first-rounders Trey Yesavage and Arjun Nimmala can provide further boosts next year.
metafour Verified Member Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Pipeline ranked the Orgs, has Jays quite low... I was thinking they'd be at 20ish MLB Pipeline sucks (and that has nothing to do with the Jays low ranking). Their rankings are very very lazy. That new Top 30 Jays list is not good. For example: where is Victor Arias? It seems very obvious to me that they don't want to have to write up a bunch of new profiles, so they try really hard to keep guys on the list who they already have profiles written for. For example: Josh Rivera slotted in at #30. Arias is easily a better prospect. Dahian Santos at #22 is another "what?" inclusion.

Arias isn't on the updated list of BA either, they also have Santos ranked at 22, lol. Ribera isn't on this list as well.
