  1. Yep, Cimber has one more arb year - 2024
  2. I think any potential deal with the Cards was contingent on the Cards not signing Contreras. When the Cards did sign Contreras I think it's not realistic to blame the Jays for not making a deal. We will never know what the framework of the deal was
  3. Found an interesting article on the Rule 5 draft + prospects that need to be added to 40 man rosters https://www.mlb.com/news/rule-5-draft-prospects-protected-on-40-man-rosters I assume the Jays and other teams would prefer not to sign a FA prior to Nov 15 as those players would need to added to the 40 man roster and as such, a prospect would have to be exposed in the Rule 5 draft
  4. Thanks, works great
  5. Anyone find a streaming site to watch the game?
  6. Anyone know why Tiedemann hasn't pitched since July 8? He participated in the Futures game and then was promoted to New Hampshire but his player's page says he is on 'temporarily inactive list'
  7. Not sure what you mean by punted pick savings. Like Cats Ass said if Barriera doesn't sign the Jays lose his slot value of $3,075,300 ... as such, there is no punted pick savings when any player taken in rounds 1 - 10 are not signed
  8. Here is what Mayo posted ... A product of Florida power American Heritage -- the same high school that produced Eric Hosmer and Deven Marrero among other recent big leaguers -- Barriera was the top left-handed pitcher of any kind on our Draft Top 250. He has three above-average pitches. His fastball goes up to 96, and he possesses a low-80s slider and an outstanding changeup, all of which he can command very well, especially for a high schooler. – Mayo
  9. I am pretty sure he was assigned to Vancouver Just checked ... he is showing on Vancouver's roster > 7 day injured list
  10. Very good explanation ... thanks
  11. As I understand the rules, only rounds 1-10 have specific slot (bonus) values but for rounds 11-20 if a player is signed for more than $125K than the excess is charged to the team's total slot pool for rounds 1-10 and could impact the signing of players in these first 10 rounds
  12. Upcoming schedule - tough I just checked the schedule thinking it would start to get easier but the next 13 games are: - 3 (Houston), 3 (ChiW), 4 (Boston), 3 (Yankees)
  13. Can someone clarify the rules regarding Reese McGuire? When Kirk is healthy and ready to return, could McGuire be sent to Buffalo without having to clear waivers? If he has to clear waivers, I think he would be claimed. Options - Jays temporarily assign Kirk to Buffalo until they decide to trade Jansen or McGuire? It might make more sense to trade Jansen (more trade value) than McGuire or in a larger trade deal Kirk with Moreno becoming the future catcher
  14. Just curious, Does anyone know the rules relating to Tanner Roark's salary if Atlanta calls him up to the major league team? Would Roark receive a salary from both Toronto + Atlanta or does his salary from Atlanta reduce what Toronto has to pay him? I realize his Atlanta salary will probably be very low
  15. I like these picks except one change Sleeper - Sem Robberse Bust - Eric Pardinho (won't be able to stay healthy) Legit - Adam Kloffenstein I think Kloffenstein will be as good as Manoah + possibly SWR
  16. I think it will help the Jays that Round 2 is tomorrow They have a day to talk to Martin / Boras to get a good idea what it will take to sign Martin Martin will probably cost more than the Pick 5 slot of 6.18M Then the Jays can plan a strategy for their Round 2 and later picks
  17. I didn't realize the draft is on TV but it is ... TSN3 at 7:00pm ET
  18. Agreed If Martin, Torkelson, Hancock and Lacy are taken as top 4 I would seriously consider Veen over Gonzales
  19. Okay, I never knew that but it makes sense I was thinking that Luciano could end up being one of the Jays better pitching prospects but I guess we will never see him on any rankings even though he may spend a year or two in the minors
  20. I assume Luciano will not be considered a prospect until spring 2020 when he is assigned to the minors
  21. Any news on international FA signings ? Deadline is June 15
  22. The Jays have until June 15 to spend their remaining allotted $ http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/international-amateur-free-agency-bonus-pool-money
