I remember last season seemingly all the Jays MiLB hitters got off to a terrible start collectively and it was depressing.

Not the case this season.

AA has 9 hitters with 109 wRC+ or better so far

AAA has 10 hitters with 100 wRC+ or better so far (this doesn't include Serven or Jansen)

Still early but Jace Bohrofen has started hot in A+

Currently rocking a 150 wRC+ in 50 PAs

No homers yet though

He had a 148 wRC+ in CPX and a 189 wRC+ in low A last year. The guy looks like a stud

He is a stud.

I still find it insane that a former SS prospect can be so awful with the glove.

It's just the footwork and transition, he'll be fine with reps.

The issue with Martinez is footwork and his bad footwork leads to some terrible throws.

Jays top 3 starting pitching prospects all go down within a week of each other.

Sometimes I wish I was just oblivious to prospects and didn't follow them, because s*** like that just takes the wind right out of the sails of a guys fandom.

Reminds me of back in '08 or sometime around then when we lost McGowan, Marcum, and Litsch all with significant injuries.

Reminds me of Hanley Ramirez. Came up as a SS and by the time he was in LF in Boston he was one of the worst defensive players I've seen.

Touche. What a dynamic player he was through age 26. Then it all kind of went downhill.

He was still pretty good in his Dodger years though. At age 29 he had 4.9 WAR and a 191 wRC+ in only 86 games. He only really started his hard decline at age 31 once he signed for Boston :)

That's true. Perhaps "inconsistent" would have been a better term. He went from a superstar, to an inconsistent and often injured player after his age 26 season. He had a couple of dead cat bounces. One in 2013 and another in 2016.

You are a brain dead moron who probably can't read more than a couple of sentences.

Have you read any of Laika's posts lately? He's the smartest guy here and he's acknowledged that the Orioles have created an unstoppable forever team with multiple hall of famers...

And what the hell is wrong with the morons on this board thinking that stating the Orioles are good means liking them??

Olerud363 (looks at Orioles stats) - holy s*** the Orioles 8th hitter has a 1.000 OPS and like 5 guys in Norfolk hava a 1.200 OPS.

That just means I'm reporting reality, not that I like the Orioles. Believe it or not I hate them, for very personal reasons. The worst human being I know loves the Orioles, and another very annoying human being I know loves them too.

These guys have realized they have a forever team of Joy with multiple hall of famers and generational history making players. It is annoying as hell to me... I do not like the Orioles, just acknowledging what is happening here as I have since late 2021 when it became apparent the Orioles would be a super-team.

Just kind of a sad time, when our one chance at a generational player (Vlad) has failed (no turning back now) and the Orioles are creating like an entire team of generational players. Probably in 10 years the top 9 position players from this Orioles team will be better than the greatest Blue Jay ever (which will still be Jose Bautista).

The Orioles have a 10 year run of 100 wins a year, likely 3 year over 110, likely the all time wins record, likely 3 or 4 World Championships, likely a year with 10 all stars (they will have to change the rules to allow other teams to have enough) and so much more.

Jays fans have the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. release ceremony, 76 wins a year and a Spencer Horwitz 3 WAR, .298 11 homer season (with good 1b defense) to look forward to.

The good thing about the Manoah situation is that the big squad doesn't even f***ing need him

Damn what a hanger!

Vlad would have grounded it to short stop... probably at 109 mph... but still grounded it to short stop.

And if he did get it in the air it would have the weird Vlad spin on it that causes it to drop on the warning track...

A guy near me is selling an Orelvis Martinez certified signed ball for $55. Should I buy it? Kid could be a stud! What improvements over the past 2 years. Clean up the foot work at 2nd and he could be special. Is he back as a Top 40 prospect in baseball? Is he Top 30?

Top 40 at least

He's hitting like Nolan Gorman before his call up

Call him up. He's ready.

New Lineup:

1. Barger - 3B

2. Orelvis - 2B

3. Varsho - CF

4. Turner - DH

5. Babe Schneider - LF

6. Jansen - C

7. Springer - RF

8. Bo - SS

9. Vlad - 1B

Absolutely. And then late game subs to bring in IKF and KK for Schneider and Springer by shifting positions for Barger to RF, Varsho to LF. If Springer and Schneider are hitting better than Barger and Orelvis, then you sub out the latter 2 instead.

There's no way Barger is better than Springer defensively right now, if his first game LF adventures are anything to go by.

I'd wager a combination of Springer in left field and Barger in right field would be a far more effective combination vs the opposite.

We should probably call up Buffalos lead off hitter. He has a .505 OBP to start the year with a 173 wRC+. Would be a solid replacement for our #2 hitter who still has options. Would possibly get him going again in a park he’s raked in before.
