So you disagree, but don't have anything the least bit constructive to add. Got it.

Which pitchers do you think can help them? Do you somehow like their depth or is your assessment based purely on loving Mayer and Raffaela?

Classic Grant, lose the debate and attempt to deflect.

Even some of the Red Sox bats that were showing up on prospect lists are questionable prospects.

Miguel Bleis has a rough K/BB profile.

So does Ceddanne Rafaela. Those two are borderline hackers.

Enmanuel Valdez was thought of as just a potential role player until he was traded to Boston, then all of a sudden he's ranked higher. Bit of a joke.

It's really a god-awful system. Casas is alright, but a 1B prospect. Yorke is interesting I guess but 2B prospects are rough assets to hold. They'll probably get ONE half-decent MLB SP out of all of Whitlock, Bello, Mata, Walter, Houck...

The rankings are simply wrong. One sprinkle of Yankees-style bias, and one helping of s***** prospects being overrated in a thin system.

You're not even willing to have a debate.

You think you are right? Let's discuss their prospects. I'm ready and willing to debate.

Mata looks brutal so far with 15 walks in 14 innings, which has always been his problem. Walter is almost 27 and hardly dominating. He's their number 7 prospect on mlb.com and really similar to Bowden Francis, who doesn't appear in our top 30.

Those are the only pitchers in the top 10. I don't know that I've ever seen such a poor farm system in terms of pitching.

There's no point. The farm rankings are relative. I'm not going to discuss the prospects on all 30 teams with you Grant.

You think the Red Sox are a bottom 5 farm system? I don't think you will find a reputable ranking that supports this.

I dunno man, the Red Sox might suck for a while

The farm is atrocious

The GM is also stupid

I guess you’re probably right. They’ve got 5 years of suck ahead of them

I think this is the best Jays team we see with Vlad and Bo meaning looking towards the future it’s not going to get easier.

Going to be next to impossible to replace Chappy next year

There is a point. First of all, you're referencing old rankings that include players who aren't prospects anymore (Casas, Bello). Look at MLB.com's top 30 for an updated list.

I also didn't say that they had a bottom 5 system. I said that they were in the conversation without Mayer, due to their lack of depth.

Finally, I said that their pitching prospects were awful which you just said was wrong, but you haven't been able to defend your position.

I think we can conclude that you just glanced at rankings, but really have no idea, and that Laika and I have it right.

Does he? What was the last big FA the Orioles signed?

IDK... have you checked? I just know they've worked with a decent payroll in the past. IDC about how they were dumn, but that they've spent in the past is all.

I can understand wanting to get blitzed most nights at the ballpark. But I think I would want to be sober watching Ricky T pitch. That experience would be a high in itself.

I dont see how anyone can get drunk on Coors Lite or Miller Lite.... Twisted Teas... yeah i could see that.

March 1, 2023 Baseball America has the Red Sox 10/30

I said they were middle of the pack, you disagreed. You are wrong.

I never said what you claim in the bold part above.

I'm well aware of when the rankings came out. They include multiple players who are no longer prospects. They are a snapshot in time and no longer useful. Look at the updated list below for a, not perfect, but far more accurate snapshot.

https://www.mlb.com/prospects/redsox/

Actually look at the list from 6 on and it's an absolute joke. A couple of older pitchers who profile as middle relievers at best and a bunch of raw A-ball outfielders who look really overmatched so far this year.

Laika outlined some of the concerning trends from Rafaela and Blais that have always been present and have gotten worse this year, as they are both off to poor starts while repeating a level.

Everyone in this thread agrees that you have it very wrong and those are the reasons why. You undoubtedly know that you are incorrect if you follow prospects at all and that's why you haven't added a single substantive thought about a single prospect throughout this conversation.

Baseball America uses the same methodology for every team, including listing propects that have debuted in MLB but are technically still prospects.

Sorry Grant, I'm not putting any weight on the musings of a guy from a backwater like SSM over the guys at Baseball America that do this for a living day in / day out.

Games have been played since those rankings came out, Jim. People think I'm stubborn, but you really take the cake.

A BJMB poster has not been made to look as stupid as you in a long time, without a leg to stand on and roasted by multiple others. You haven't contributed a single useful thought. Go away.

lol, it's been less than a month of games, you idiot

Should Jackson Chourio drop off the top 100 because he's been slow out of the gate?

There's a reason rankings are not updated until mid season. I'd explain it to you, but it would be useless.

Players like Triston Casas lose prospect status after a certain amount of time in the majors. He's playing like an A-ball prospect, but that doesn't make him one.

That's what I meant when I said games have been played, but you also can't ignore a poor start for all of their guys, except Yorke.

We're lucky they don't update lists monthly, as they would be in the 20s and it would have denied us this wonderful opportunity to expose just how stupid you really are, as you continue to erode what little credibility you had with an enticing blend of pure idiocy and stubbornness.

Looks like Tiedemann got smacked around pretty good today.

For f*** sakes - can we talk about this and NOT about the Red Sox's system? Thanks.

He more so just struggled with his command. He still struck out 5 in 2.1 lol. The weather was also dog s*** the game didn't even complete lol.

Hard to ascertain anything on game where it was pouring rain and then got suspended. Who knows if the hits were really hits or the result of s*** conditions. Ditto the walks.

Based on how Tiedemann's numbers looked it might have been better to be drunk for this one.
