I can't comment on SWR too much, but Pardinho has a textbook delivery that is repeatable and should lead to excellent command as he progresses through the system. I can't recall seeing many 18 year old pitchers with such consistent command and mid 90's velo. I think that his ranking is justified.

Again, Woods Richardson has fewer walks and more strikeouts at the same age, which you would think would indicate better control and stuff. His K-BB% is third best in all of A ball, and he's doing it as an 18 year old, four months older than Pardinho, who has been injured a lot.

Why do people have this weird dislike of SWR?

I dont mean the 18 yr old pitching prospect, but that he's somehow worse than all our other pitching prospects

What are you talking about? Pardinho not only has a worse walk rate, but a worse K rate as well. He's certainly giving up more contact than SWR.

You can say it's your opinion all you want, but you can't have an opinion on a fact.

You can

I wasn't making a comparison of the two players. I was just sharing my thoughts on Pardinho.

I'd like to see a few starts from Woods-Richardson before making any judgments. Walk numbers at that level don't necessarily tell you who has better command.

You have to wait for Big Sim to be a Jay for longer and then LTBF will think he's good. He's too freshly removed from playing for a different team which automatically makes him worse.

Oh I think he is good. Why cant I think Pardinho is ahead of him at this time? SWR i think clearly has the higher upside though due to the K ability

You can but it isn't based on anything other than your attachment to him because he has been a blue jay for longer. If we could try to not pretend this isn't the case, that would be great

I wonder if Josh Palacios gets a look in September? 24 years old now but a 130 wRC+ in AA. Maybe he has a chance to be a 4th OF if his defence plays at the big league level.

Maybe we can trade him for a starter a reliever and a prospect

Wow amazing starts to their bluejays career by Kyle Johnston and Hatch

Lmao

Hatch had xFIP of 3.16 in that game, seems like he did better than the line suggests.

that statement makes a lot of sense, and then you look up the stats and neither pitcher has pitched 100 innings yet. The stats probably don't tell you much at all. Literally one start could sway things. Resuming this discussion a year from now probably makes more sense.

Okay, Alford can clearly handle the Gulf Coast league...can we get him back up to AAA...maybe even the big club soon.

Why? It's been 11 PAs? Literally one game could sway things

Who will you take playing time away from?

literally one game couldn't sway things. If he went 0 for 4 he'd still have an obp of .467 but nice try.

Well done saskjaysfan, you got me. Take a victory lap.

Drove 5 hours yesterday to see junkies in the parking lot beside Erie, PA baseball stadium..

Matt Manning looked pretty good... 94-97 fb, 91 2 seam, slider and a curveball..

Hatch was 94-95 fb, 87-88 slider, never threw a third pitch, hung ALOT of sliders, seemed pretty meh.

Anthony Alford has no business being in the show this year. Has not earned that right yet again.

Yennsy Diaz hasn't either. SRF hasn't either.

Did you see my bet regarding Bichette being a disappointment?

Have you not learned anything from The Mirage or Gurribabip?

Trolling me non stop and always being wrong, always overestimating SSS results, and never paying attention to process.

Look Bichette is another hacker with worse power, but probably better contact skills then those two above. He still looks terrible vs r/r sliders. He is never going to be a walker, his best case scenario is something like Starlin Castro or Jose Reyes imo.

So that's a no? Soft if true

100 bucks he has a wRC+ of at least 90 at the end of the year minimum 50 AB's.
