KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 11k/9 2bb/9 2.5 fip and just about every start he looks like he is overwhelming batters, inducing a ton of weak contact. He's 23 so he's not young, but I could definitely see him called up post all star break if he keeps it up and there's need in their rotation. Just took a glance as the NL West standings and woof. Duplantier could be a difference maker assuming no one takes charge of that division. Their pitching has been pretty thin. Medlen, Buccholtz and Troys Scribner have all been given a start and they've all been bad. Right now they are looking at Shelby Miller as the main reinforcement and who knows how that will go. I still think it's a long shot but yeah if it's going down to the wire and they need a guy...

Arizona running away with it!
Ray Verified Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Vlad and Cavan Biggio are now ranked 1 and 2 in OPS in the Eastern League
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Anyone looking for LULZ can check out this TSN made list of 20 prospects that lists them based on their previous 7 days of stats. Probably the most useless thing i've ever seen. https://www.tsn.ca/talent/future-watch-vlad-jr-continues-to-crush-double-a-pitching-1.1092982
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 It's mostly the camera angle. He does step a bit towards 3B side though. That's not all camera angle IMO. He looks like Bobby Witt out there (I think the first time I heard anyone talk about pitchers throwing across the body, the broadcaster was talking about Bobby Witt when he was on the Rangers). Havok is correct though - it creates a lot of deception, but is probably the root cause of his BB issues. I believe it also adds a lot of stress to the arm.

Arrieta is another guy that throws across his body.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Vladdy's 2 for 3 so far today with his 9th HR - hitting .429! They should just let him play out the season in AA and see if he can top .400........ Bichette also finally having a good day at the plate after scuffling all month - 2 for 3 with his 2nd HR.

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I finally figured out what happened to Rowdy Tellez.... it's bad karma! This is shameless gossip, but scroll through the twitter feed of @lexa_morgann. Seems like Rowdy legitimately ruined her life in some way or another.

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 You not gonna post some cliffs? - I was already following her because I think she used to be a semi-active baseball/Canada/Toronto twitter person. - 10,000 self indulgent depressed tweets over the last ~6 months, some random guy seemed to have absolutely crushed her soul. - One recent one was about moving to Florida to support the career of this guy who ruined her entirely. - More recently she name-dropped "Rowdy" as the perp.

Drumcliff Verified Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Don’t mean to pick on the young guy, who’s obviously struggling at the plate big time, but North York’s Gareth Morgan, the 74th player picked in the 2014 draft, is wracking up epic strikeout numbers with Seattle’s Modesto farm team in the California League. He’s fanned at least once in all 42 games he’s appeared in this year — and, last night, hit the 100 mark for the season, in the last week of May. Yikes.

"I moved to Florida to support my ex boyfriend and his career, enrolled in college as an out of state student, lived here alone for 6+ months alone going to school/ working. He dumped me and did some HEINOUS things to me all the while I was fighting for our relationship. I graduated from that college today after the hell he put me through. It’s a great feeling man."
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Looks like Rowdy has himself a coocoo-puff! She needs some help over this.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 woops why does everyone think everyone else needs to know every f***ing thought that passes through their head ... yay social media
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Guess what Alexa? Twitter doesn't give a f*** about your feelings. She is nuts. Rowdy is probably glad she's gone.
