I knew his numbers were nuts but I had no idea he gained so much scouting respect. There were probably like ~12 high school bats and ~24 high school prospects picked before him.

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Holy s***! So does this mean he's a top 50 prospect next season, perhaps higher? No, but he mayyyybe could sneak into some top 100s and you really wouldn't expect a 2nd round HS pick to do that after one short season. Would be kind of nuts for him to make any top 100s.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Holy s***! So does this mean he's a top 50 prospect next season, perhaps higher? He's our own Rafael Devers
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Holy s***! So does this mean he's a top 50 prospect next season, perhaps higher? As impressive as he was, we need to see more. I think he'll miss most top 100 lists in the offseason, but could shoot up considerably by midseason 2017 if he continues mashing.

I think the lists that actually rank numerically would, leave him off, but maybe lists like Sickels would have him towards a C+ ranking, which is pretty decent for what will be a second year high schooler. I wonder if he gets challeneged with full season ball next year or not. That would be pretty aggressive
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 Lansing next year for Bo? That would be very aggressive given how the team has babied their HS players for their first couple of seasons.

That would be pretty aggressive I can't see it with this new front office, especially after his season was already shortened to begin with. If we're serious about keeping him at shortstop, I think he would benefit more from another year of instructs rather than a full season.

Yeah, nothing wrong with putting him up to Vancouver and getting some more advanced competition before taking on full season as a 20 year old.

Caper Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Ryan McBroom had like 7 rbi's on Monday. I don't care if this sounds stupid.... but I honestly think he could hit better then Justin Smoak right now. That's more of a comment of how truly awful I think Smoak is.

You might be able to make an argument for Tellez but not McBroom..

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 You might be able to make an argument for Tellez but not McBroom.. Tellez is a f***ing monster. I saw him yesterday. Nice guy
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Yeah. I think you're right. How about both McBroom and Tellez being better than Smoak right now? This isn't because I think both are great, this is more or less a statement on how much Smoak sucks!

It's okay but the biggest knock is the non existence of a premium player. That could be Vlad in a couple of years, but the rest all seem like 55 FV types at best. I think Alford has the best chance today of becoming an above average regular FWIW.

Never underestimate the value of having cheap contollable 55s on your roster
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 How did Conner Greene get that nod, he's been ass this year. 3.29 ERA is likely all it took A shame that analysis that simple still exists to make decisions in baseball lol. Prospect status might help a bit too. You kids do have to lay off the early stat scouting... they could be dealing with new mechanics, 1 pitch, in any given game. I thought you knew this s*** King?
