He has 4 now. No one hit 4 on the GCL Jays last year. Juan Tejada hit 5 the year before and Barreto had 4 in 2012.

Minor league season is over at the end of August.. playoffs early September.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but Chase De Jong is having himself a really nice season in AA with the Dodgers. Sweet little pickup for them and for cap room.

When someone's making elite contact like that its kind of hard to interpret their walk rate. We don't really know if Bichette is a free swinger just based on that.

Low level walk rate pretty much doesn't matter. Like at all.

I used that argument when JPA was smashing in AAA. I was really really wrong lol.

 

That said, I'm not going to worry about BoBi's walk rate until the SS gets larger.

Arencibia hit .470 last week and only struck out once. No walks ....but he only k'd once

BB% doesn't matter but K% does.

 

I think saying it doesn't matter at all isnt quite true(you wouldn't want to see 0 walks in 100 PA) but it's certainly not at the top of the list of things to care about in rookie ball.

I wouldn't say that's true at all. Everything matters, every plate appearance, and every inning. If someone isn't doing well in Rookie ball that should effect how you project them in higher levels and their likelihood of eventually making it to the bigs. Its very rare for someone to flop at the lower levels and then turn it around.
