Brad Mills could strike out a batter an inning in the minors too. And on the other hand Sanchez could not.

Stuff and results don't always mesh in the minors

Brad Mills and JDL are opposites, though. Mills was a pitchabilty lefty, who could not strike out over a batter per inning at the upper levels of the minors.

JDL has posted strikeouts rates of 12 K/9 ++ throughout the upper levels of the minors with a mid 90s fastball and nasty changeup.

Mitch McKown was a disaster today (and every other appearance he's made)

  • Pitching Change: Mitch McKown replaces Juan Meza.
  • Defensive Substitution: Manuel Herazo replaces catcher Owen Spiwak, batting 8th, playing catcher.
  • Mickey Moniak walks.
  • With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak to 2nd.
  • With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak to 3rd.
  • With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak scores.
  • Aaron Altherr walks.
  • Jhailyn Ortiz walks. Aaron Altherr to 2nd.
  • Pitching Change: Orlando Pascual replaces Mitch McKown.

@Matt_Winkelman hard to believe, but it was way worse than that box score shows. Seriously

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 4m4 minutes ago

@Matt_Winkelman he bounced 4 pitches about 50 ft then another 5 pitches went over the batters heads and into the backstop

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 4m4 minutes ago

@Matt_Winkelman I wouldn't have let Altherr hit against him. He came close to taking 1 to the head. Ortiz was taking 2 steps back at release

I was speaking in general terms. There are guys with generally s*** stuff that could strike batters out...and there are guys with great stuff (Sanchez) that have trouble getting the K. As for JDL. Not as familiar with him...I focus more on Jays prospects so I don't know if Law is full of s*** or not (I'm assuming he is)...just that you can't always look at K numbers to determine stuff.

Ok minor league moves to pitching

As promised.... Here we go!!!

To Buff:

Luis Santos, SP , 25

Murphy Smith RP , 28

Chris Smith , RP , 27

Will Browning, RP, 27

What we do in buff not sure trade or release not sure.... But oh well

To NH :

Sean R Foley SP, 20

Francisco Rios Sp, 21

Colten turner, RP, 25

Carlos Rameriz, RP, 25

Foley and Rios can be piggy backed at first, or rotate them each turn just to get their feet wet knowing if they do well they can start next year at this level as well.

To DUN :

Angel Pedermo, SP , 22

Jon DIRTY Harris SP, 22

Ryan Borucki , SP , 22

Jordan Romano, RP, 23

Borucki will be used in the pen till the end of the season. Pedermo and Harris sent to winter ball and jumped to Buff next year.

To LAN :

Justin Maese, SP , 19

Patrick Murphy SP, 21

Connor Eller, SP/ RP , 22

Luke Gillingham, Sp/RP, 22

Piggy Back Eller Gillingham till they build innings up.. Keep it status quo or pick one at that point.

To Van:

Hansel Rodriguez, SP, 19

Chris Hall, RP, 22

Joel Espinal, SP, 19

And one or both if room

Danny Jimenez, ??? , 22

T.J Zeuch , ??? , 20

Sorry about the length of the post!!!

Discuss... BBBB out, Thanks!!!

Bryan: Rowdy Tellez is tearing up AA of late as a 21 year old. Can he possibly become a league average 1b/DH in MLB? I believe I recall you saying he has a “long swing”–will that prevent him from reaching the big leagues?

Klaw: No. Can’t hit quality pitching.

Once again, How do you put up a 150 wRC+ in AA without being able to hit quality pitching? Holy f***!

Ask him if he still thinks Travis is a minor league player.

Keith Law likes to think he's an analytics and evidence based guy and he regularly says something asinine like that

Listening to the Dunedin radio broadcast for a bit. Reid-Foley just hit 98 on the stadium gun and Chris Colabello is playing LF for some reason.

He'll be starting in LF when he gets back to Toronto with Saunders moving to RF

Who said this? That experiment failed badly last year. I'd rather run with Carrera

Lol. No one. Was just making up a worst case scenario.

Relax guys. Cola is yesterday's news. He'll spend the rest of his life on a crusade to clear his name.

@vancanadians about to get some serious help on the mound... Very excited.

Zeuch?

The excitement would lead me to believe it's Zeuch, could it be Hansel or one of the older Bluefield arms?
