Abuse of a mod, you will be banned. This place will be 10x worse if people can openly disrespect moderators.

As mentioned before, repeated questioning, #free, etc., you will be banned.

Creating new accounts while banned will result in long term bans.

If you don't like the decision of one of the mods, PM me or one of the other mods to discuss it. Openly name calling and making stupid posts doesn't help the situation. We don't simply ban guys because they have a different opinion then others. Flat out trolling will be banned, but if they have an opinion they can actually back, they can share their opinon. If you take the bait and can't help yourself, that's your fault.

I like this decision, I don't come on here as often as I used to but when I do come on here half the posts I read is people complaining about mods, it gets boring after a while reading the same posts over and over

After some internal discussion, the mods have decided to go to a two level system for dealing with troublesome behaviour on the board

Infractions will be given to posters who start showing disruptive behaviour. Personal attacks and other purposefully disruptive behaviour will generally be treated with the poster receiving an infraction as a warning that his behaviour is being watched but not yet deserving of a ban. A second infraction will be given if the problem is not immediately stopped. If the second warning is ignored a ban will be granted. (It's a baseball forum right? 3 strikes and you're out). This appears to be a more effective way of dealing with it than sending warnings via personal message which is what we have generally been doing.

Immediate banning and/or account deletion will still be used for known repeat offenders who immediately start causing problems, and for those spamming the board with garbage threads.

I think this will strike a better balance, giving the mods the ability to keep the board under control by WARNING otherwise good posters who are acting up and giving them a chance to stop, and BANNING complete garbage accounts/posters on sight.

Thank you Twisted Logic for bringing this idea up yesterday.

We are still actively discussing what types of things are infraction worthy vs ban worthy.

Are the Mods ignoring there own Rules! Openly challenging members in the open in threads shame!

that's all fine. But you have to realize that you have a hot-head who holds grudges as a mod and its disenfranchising some of your longest term members and hurting the board. O2 isn't a good mod. He doesn't have the temperament for it. If that's abuse, ban me... but I'm just speaking the truth.

That's the biggest issue.

The principal style enforcement like we are all third graders is never going to garner respect from people on the internet either.

Honest question, what does a discussion do? I know it's politically correct but from what I see doesn't seem like you are listening. No offense. I'm neutral on this debate, aside from now, but this seems more of the wrong way to go. Imagine a country. Right now you have a uproar and you are putting more rules and threats. You honestly see this ending well without a compromise?

When long term members are banned to protect idiots like Trouba this forum is heading towards the MLB standard. People will eventually start leaving. Not a threat, again I know reading this sounds douchy, but just a observation.

Naw it's completely true. I don't care who gets banned, don't ban anyone for all I care. Banning people who have been posting for years and actually follow ball closely is stupid, regardless if they make a silly post insulting the moderator.

We can see if the situation is handled properly. Often people get banned, and the rest of the board don't see the PMs or all the posts that have been deleted. There are often several warnings before bannings, and members just ignore them. PMing me and saying "xxxx has to go" is not a discussion.

It is often the same group that don't know when to stop and if it was any other forum they probably would have been permanently banned and gone forever. I've had discussions with new mods, and even some other level headed veterans about some of the issues here and almost all have said the issue is from a small group of members, rather than the moderating group.

o2 is a complete clown. He simply needs to be de-modded. Simply questioning him results in him deleting posts and banning users.

There were only positives from him being on vacation the past few weeks. As soon as he's back, the same pathetic s*** happens again.

He's the Joe West of internet moderators.

My account was deleted and I didn't receive a warning nor have I ever. I know I called him an idiot in public but did you know when he bans people he sends a little rant often with insults, so what's the difference? There's a solid 40-50 people here who have a problem with a certain mod and I can't see that being good for business.

We want to welcome different opinions, both good and bad. We want to allow free speech as much as possible. And most of all, we want the board to grow.

Ps please Remind North and the mods of this! :)

I agree. I don;t even like going on the main boards or participating in discussions cause of a certain mod. I imagine if things keep up like they are then a large group of members will not be staying on this board.

I broke silence but I will be going back into the shadows after tonight! So with that Enjoy the playoff run Brothers!!!

Go Jays Go!!! Got Rum!!!! FYSMC Troll Mod, thanks for ruining this place for me!!!! :(

So this happened yesterday, I know it's obvious o2 has a huge bias against me and other board members (evident by the time he threatened to give me a week ban for a situation I was legitimately not involved in) but this is ridiculous. The dude had the ban hammer out and ready to smash during the night the Jays won the AL east for the first time in 22 years..

o2 makes an offensive post

"it's ok, the Mayor has told the police to stand down and let them burn the city to the ground, oh wait... that was a different block party"

I reply saying and reported his post

" Unnecessary"

o2 says

"don't be so uptight, it's not flattering."

so I say

"Pretty ridiculous comments coming from a mod."

then o2

"next time you're at the corner store see if you can buy a sense of humor."

then i got banned FOR A WEEK for??...

Boxy hit the nail on the head in this post, but of course it was deleted. Also, in the orioles hangout discussion thread a poster made a similar "joke" which o2 handed out a ban for...?!!?

I can't find the post now, but o2 was on record tonight saying that "trolling is not a bannable offense." Is this real life?

Juiced, if you think it's a small group of posters that are against o2 then you are out to lunch. The whole board was out in force tonight, this guy is ridiculous and should never be a mod. He's power tripping during the best time this team has had in a 22 year span, he must have handed out bans to 9 or 10 board regulars tonight.

If it's often the same group then this thread is more concerning. If you have had continued discussions with them on this, what is the point of this thread?

From the outside looking in it appears as an attempt not to encourage spreading that opinion that those who have been banned share. Even members who are often quite on this have started to voice their displeasure. The opinion of O2 among this board is startlingly obvious. I also am not sure who the older members you discuss this with are, don't care, but if you are listening to the clear minority on what to do against the majority then that's a bad idea.

I'm not going to tell you how to run this place or what to do. This is the last I'll chime in and I hope I just misunderstood what you said. Otherwise the playoffs are going to suck...

You have to see that o2 IS a problem though. He is going to run this forum into the ground if you don nothing.

He sent me a warning for saying Caroline Cameron looks like she has fetal alcohol syndrome. The dude is crazy.

Bannable offense. She is really hot and has nice cheeks (in two ways).

Personally, it bothers me when people make comments about celebrities as if they aren't really people. So in other words, if someone said online that you Stangstag look like you have fetal alcohol syndrome would it bother you?

I think if people disagree with celebrities then it is ok to state ones point but without the derogatory remarks as if celebrities are objects and not real people. In other words, act like a diplomat instead of like Donald Trump.

You should stop posting if you don't think Caroline Cameron is attractive. Go watch a porno with a brunette and come back please...
