Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 So stupid that the season series between us and the Yanks basically has no bearing. I've never liked this rule. If there's a tie, why do we have to beat them again after going at worst 12-7? You only say this because the Blue Jays have the advantage in that. It's more exciting to have one last game that decides who wins the division rather than whatever happened throughout the year. Teams change.

That would be an awful disadvantage to the loser of a division tie who also makes the WC and has to play a second 1 gamer with their #2 starter.

Why should a team that was beaten head to head get another chance?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Meh. This is a huge game and it will be all hands on deck for the Yanks. They will go all in to not be 3.5 down tonight. Of course it'll be all hands on deck for the Yanks bullpen.. expect Nova to be on a very short leash.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Is this the GDT?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I wouldnt say most important, because there will be another game in a week with greater implications than this. Definitely most exciting though
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 114" ...you know what they say about a big TV...
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 We win tonight and the Yanks can only afford really 3-4 more losses.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Since 2012, Barney has a UZR/150 of 16.4. That is the fourth best in baseball over that period (minimum 3,000 ABs). 4th out of 0
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 4th out of 0 lol innings obv. 4th / 125 http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=3000&type=1&season=2015&month=0&season1=2012&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=24,d
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Lol, one game sample size from the mighty Cliff Pennington. Barney is as good if not better, relax (I know this is hard for you). You don't think Pennington has Nova's number?! Get a grip. Fire Gibby now.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Porn must be great on a screen like that.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Please parent your child at the game, nothing is worse than being at a game and some nose picking ankle-biter running around, yelling and eating candy without watching the game. Children are the worst. WTF? cf

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Good time to remind everyone that there was a time when all we wanted was meaningful baseball.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Took me awhile to realize that this was an old thread from last year. I was baffled by what I was reading.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 But I could rant about fans at the game all day today. Last night I sat beside a newly dating couple, who were sitting with 3 other married couples. This girl had a horrible laugh, but she's meeting her new guys old married baseball friends. She was forced to laugh at everything they said. The stuff he was explaining to her about baseball I just wanted to interrupt and tell her that he's really stupid. Then he jumps into my 7th inning stretch conversation that Edgar Martinez should be in the HOF and tells me I'm wrong. Felt sorry for the girl as she got so drunk by the end that she could barely speak.
