BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Playoff experience helps in playoffs How many post season at bats do EE and Bautista have combined. Likely 0 I think that's over rated. KC got to the 7th game WS last year with little actual "playoff experience". Talent trumps experience imo. These guys have been playing ball under pressure for over a month already.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Whichever team has the fewest ex-Jays on it.
intrigid Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 lol who are you people voting Rangers? Gallardo throws fire against the Jays and Cole Hamels wouldn't be a push over either. Rangers are a below .500 team, they've just been lucky.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I would hope nobody gets taken lightly come the playoffs. I do think that the Rangers are the worst of the three teams listed, so understandably lots of people are saying they are the best match up. Price could run through their LHH lineup the first game while the Jays (should) tee off on Gallardo. I'd be surprised if he was able to shut down this offense three times this year.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Again for me, I would prefer Astros. I think their two top LH starters match up very well against us, but we dont have a good history at the minute maid park. Yankees are the team I'd least like to face. I'd hate to face the Yankees and the Umpires too, (Considering the post season hankering that will go on for a Mets-Yankees Series)

Who is taking them lightly? The question was who would the Jays ideally face in round 1. The answer is the Rangers. They are the worst team with a chance at making the playoffs. Of that there is no doubt. If anything, people shouting "Astros" should explain themselves. They're arguably the 2nd best team in the AL. Rangers are 7th or 8th best in the AL.

Record since All-Star Break: Yankees 30-24 Astros 28-24 Rangers 33-21 If they are the worst team of the three, they certainly haven't been playing like it in the second half. Oh and since the ASB: Jays 37-15
TBJESE Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Rangers. Their 2 best starters are LH which Jays mash and their lineup isn't that good. I think the "Jays mash lefties" thing might be a little overstated these days: it was a thing when we had Travis, Reyes/Tulo, and Valencia but now we have Pennington, Goins, and Revere.

Revere hits lefties better, and Pennington is a switch hitter. Darwin Barney is a RH hitter. We still have a RH-heavy lineup.
polar bear Verified Member Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Obviously the Yankees,we already know we can kick their arse.

Doesn't chance the fact that Revere is a much worse hitter against lefties than Valencia, Pennington is a much worse hitter against lefties than Tulo, and Barney is a much worse hitter against lefties than Travis.http://i.imgur.com/IkRoNZM.jpgThree bangers are good. Nine bangers are better.
