Yes And hopefully the winning run is scored by Josh Donaldson, who plows over a baseline-blocking Douchebag Machado at third as he rounds the bases, scoring on a Bautista off-the-wall double off of a disgusted O'Day.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 ^ I can visualize it so easily...
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I honestly don't know why they keep matching O'Day up against Bau..... Bautista continues to make him his bitch.. My guess is Buck had a gut feeling.

Would prefer to see Bautista reaching his 40th to have 2 Jays with at least 40 HR in the season. It would be the absolute best if Encarnacion can get 4 HRs before the end of the season as well so the Jays can have 3 at the same time which will break the AL record and tie the NL record.
rydermike Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Can't believe the magic number is only 5! Considering how far back we were. I think we can easily take 2 of the next 3 vs Baltimore and Tampa, and then would just need one KC loss

Bautista has come a long way. I remember it was April and I felt like Bautista was showing signs of big regression. By the end of May he only had 7 home runs!

Grant Friesen Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Better question now is if the Royals can catch the Jays? .... No. Science bitches

art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 So by my math, if the Royals go 3-1 against Sox/Twins, Jays have to go 2-2 against O's/Rays. Or Royals go 2-2 and Jays go 1-3. With the way the Royals are going, it's conceivable they'll go 2-2 and best case 3-1. I can't see them going 4-0 If we concede the O's game, we have to win 1 or 2 against the Rays. Going for the Rays are Ramirez, Archer, Moore. So what do you guys think?

I'd actually guess here that Minny will take two out of three from them. Rays won't exactly mail it in either I'm sure, and I doubt Archer will get rocked twice in a row by us, but they definitely won't be able to play us with the same intensity as Twins do vs Royals. It'll mostly depend on what kind of lineup/pitching we throw out there though, since from the sounds of it from Gibby it doesn't seem like we're serious about first overall and would rather use the time to rest guys.

We'll continue to have effectively one game advantage (tied on record on paper but ahead on a tiebreaker) so barring a sweep from either side I doubt things will change now. If the Rangers win tonight they pretty much win the division. Jays playing the Rangers in the first series would probably be a nice matchup for the Jays. Also both teams would get a big break so the rust factor shouldn't come into play.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 OK, the resting is over Back in battle mode Time to win so MF games now
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Sucks we basically had to throw the last 2 games, oh well lets sweep Tampa.

I don't think it's that they don't want it, as much as it is they are not willing to risk the longer term goal to get it. I think the double header + weather really messed things up. Yesterday's game was the real day off, as skipping the back end of the double header wasn't really a resting opportunity per se. As tough as it is to punt two games at this point in the season, I'd rather see the team prepare for the offseason more than anything. Plus it's tough to know what's really going on the clubhouse in terms of Edwin's finger, Donaldson's wrist, etc.

Agree or disagree they did a cost benefit analysis and chose the course they took. We will know the results soon enough. Price will pitch on 11 days rest and be good or not...and after 3 gms in Tampa we may be #1 seed in AL....or not.

Grant Friesen Verified Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Jays didn't even show up ... probably drinking at a bush party. O's vs Bisons
Billy Bats Verified Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 We're in it to win these last 3 games and could very well do it with KC in Minnesota! the Twins are fighting to the bitter end, KC could easily lose 2 of 3 or get swept! they're a very hittable team!!!
