BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Why would he need rest though? His injury wasn't arm related so I would think if anyone is fresh it's him. In a way this injury has been a blessing in disguise. If he had pitched all year people would be yapping about inning limits. There's no such problem now right when the team needs him the most. The issue is (and we have to just trust the training and medical staff) not the wear on an arm that hasn't pitched much. Its the leg injury recovery throwing off mechanics which can create arm trouble. The ever cursed McGowan knee injury ended up giving him more arm issues...and same for others.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 McGowan is a diabetic, he could never stay healthy for any length of time.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Price obviously starts every fifth game, no matter what. We have him a short time at great cost. Pitch him until his arm falls off as long as he is effective. He wants to win.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) McGowan is a diabetic, he could never stay healthy for any length of time. of course. We all know that. Im not sure the diabetes was his injury issue. Is that why Morrow is always hurt too? lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sportspeople_with_diabetes Mark Lowe too. That doesn't mean the mechanics issue/concern isn't legit. Edited August 28, 2015 by BigCecil

I think it had to due with medication for his diabetes not reacting well with medication for his injury and slowing the healing process down?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Stroman crushed his simulated game. Lansing next if he is 90% capacity for the stretch it would be like trading for a front end starter without having to lose anyone. great times for jays fans!

baubau Verified Member Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 @ArdenZwelling Stroman's especially excited about his changeup; he's been working hard on it in Dunedin. That gives him six pitches btw. #BlueJays @ArdenZwelling Just spoke to Stroman; says he'll throw all six of his pitches tonight; all feel good. He'll pitch with a carbon fibre knee brace. #BlueJays @ArdenZwelling After outing tonight, Stroman will throw a bullpen in Toronto on Friday. Start for Buffalo on Monday. Then officially rejoin the #BlueJays. from: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/follow-live-marcus-stroman-makes-rehab-start-for-lansing/ & this article: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/marcus-stromans-absurd-set-of-pitch-comps/ & this will be us once he starts: http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa22/speeder2007/girls/randy_marsh.jpg
Nafro Verified Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 After tonight's performance, I think this become's a legitimate consideration. Six quality starter's is a problem we need to have if we want to have a good run at the World Series. I think I increasingly like the idea of piggybacking pitchers, in this scenario.

Candide Verified Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 wow, what a game by Stroman! he's a legitimate #2 guy (would be an ace if he wasn't too street) and would look really good pitching behind Jordan Zimmerman next season if Price and Buehrle leave in the offseason.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 What an unbelievably likable kid he is...seriously like holy s*** likable....I like to consider myself a motivated guy but I bow down to Marcus Stroman....I am sending all the good karma I can muster out your way Marcus!
Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 What to do with Stroman? I have no f***ing clue. He's obviously coming back to start. But no one in the rotation deserves to get pushed out. I can actually see them going with a six man starting staff, including Price. It wouldn't hurt to give him extra days too. Hutch to the pen doesn't seem right to me. He's been a different guy his past three starts. Estrada's been a rock all year. It'll be interesting to see what they do.
