Mikeleelop Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 This ump is brutal. Never seen so many balls outside the zone called strikes
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Why didn't Chavez pitch good with the jays? Walker? That and he got ridiculously unlucky. K/9 over 11, BB/9 over 4, but really high HR/FB% (25%) and very low LOB (52.5%) resulting in a 8.44 ERA, 5.91 FIP despite a 3.90 xFIP. He's regressed heavily since then.

Governator Community Moderator Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 They call that outer strike all the time to lefties, it's just so common it's hard to argue because it's usually consistent for all teams.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Chavez is pitching really well. Stop scouting the AT BAT App and watch the game. He is now first 2 innings he was lucky to only give up 4....I am not scouting anything I can see the game. Maybe you should do the same. He had no command and was up over the plate first 2 innings, thus 4 runs and lucky Bautista and others missed a couple.

Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Holy f*** are you stupid. He was actually unlucky to give up 4 er. LOL and you call me dumb? Goins HR was unlucky? It was a terrible pitch, Pillars hit was up over the plate and Smoaks was a hanger/.... if those are better executed pitches it's tied or very close. Luck has nothing to do with it. He made bad pitches and paid for them, that's how it often works. Luck was Pillar losing a ball in the sun/. Herp Derp it's all luck with you guys, ridiculous/. He was lucky he only gave up 4, meatballs over the middle of the plate first 2 innings.

Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 His HR/FB is 33% and he has a .500 BABIP. His xFIP is 0.66 and hes struck out 7 in 4 innings. You're dumb. BABIP is .500 when you pitch meatballs......He got most of his strike outs after the second...those stats in such a small sample mean squat, they do not account for quality of pitches like the meat balls he was throwing. He was pithed well since the second I am not arguing that. Maybe pay attention to the game and not worship stats in small samples?

Meatballs!

Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 This is ironic. Says the guy who uses advanced stats over a few inning sample. HErp Derp.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Chavez has some weird chicken legs
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I hope we don't go too deep into their bullpen today, they play the O's starting tomorrow

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Why are we fighting? Are you new here?
Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Goins' pitch was shoulder high and Pillar's hit was on an outside fastball that he drove the other way. Meatballs! first 2 innings he threw almost all fastballs at 90MPH.... A 90MPH high fastball to a fastball hitter when all you have thrown is fastballs is not a good pitch period. It's why it went into the seats. Hitters won't be fooled when you only throw one pitch.
