Dumb. Trading Navarro looks less important as our bullpen becomes more decent. We really don't need him at all. Probably better off with Thole up to catch Dickie

Decent isn't good enough, IMO. It still needs a boost if the means are reasonable.

I hate this option too. :(

I hate to say it but I think tyey have ruled out trading him.

They never wanted to trade him.

When Adam Lind said something negative about the organization, he was traded days later. When Navarro publicly asked to be traded, they kept him and play him at DH and catcher despite taking playing time away from a much better player.

I have no doubt that no other team wanted him, especially if AA wanted actual talent in return, but if they wanted to dump him he would have been gone already. AA deserves all the blame on this one. I think so little of Gibbons that I'm not even going to blame him for doing stupid things. Take Navarro away from the roster and Gibbons would be forced to play the better players. AA keeping Navarro for as long as he has is the reason for this.

The goal of this team should be to field the best lineup everyday when possible that gives you the best chance to win. Against righties, Smoak should be in there everyday over Navarro, no excuse. You can't be f***ing around when the team is in a race.

Hey Gibby believes in his pure hitterism. Watch the way you talk about the best pure hitter on this team

Here is the difference. Navarro was a free agent and Lind wasn't.

I didn't expect to be taken serious but okay

I know, just stated the facts and how ignorant Gibby is. Not directed towards you.

Excuse my stupidity, but I don't understand this point?

When you adjust for PCH (Professional Clutch Hitting), I believe Navarro's WAR jumps about 1 win. Fangraphs hasn't incorporated that into their data yet. Maybe someday.

Mods please delete.

Dylan is our GDT man for today.

Sorry you can't delete karma. I thought it was my day. I'm 1.5-0 now. I might retire undefeated but more likely I'll tempt fate again and do the first GDT after Beeston leaves.

^ Navarro does not have supporters on this board when it comes to DHing

I actually like seeing Navarro as a DH and even once or twice a week as the catcher. His batting is impressive. Most of the balls he hits are hit hard.

For Navarro sake, he should get a good fitness trainer and lose about 20 - 25 pounds (it would help with his running and limit injuries to his legs). However, compared to Prince Fielder he doesn't look overly big.

I like your style. I need a 400 lbs guy to hang with me all the time so I can say to the ladies "in comparison..."
