Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 And Tulo's at SS Curious why they'd put E5 at 1st and DH Cola.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Agreed. What a slaughter house that would be with him in that lineup. Luckily Goins has really stepped up his game and has more more than adequate. Agreed. "T n T" at SS and 2B 2016 with a great option to back up in Goins. Couldn't be more impressed with the way Goins has stepped up. The only thing we are missing is a more credible heavy LHH. No disrespect to Smoak who has done ok. But they are going to throw RH SP at us steady in playoffs.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 it will be nice to see the A team back out for tonight's game 1. Ben Revere (L) LF 2. Josh Donaldson ® 3B 3. Jose Bautista ® RF 4. Edwin Encarnacion ® 1B 5. Chris Colabello ® DH 6. Russell Martin ® C 7. Troy Tulowitzki ® SS 8. Kevin Pillar ® CF 9. Ryan Goins (L) 2B
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 FA - Chris Davis: 1B- Toronto Blue Jays 2016. Just dreaming.

They must be going for the jugular today and tomorrow, while hoping KC loses at least 1 game, so they can throw Buerhle back out for Sunday, probably combined with a few innings from Hutch again. It could be ugly lol.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Didn't think it was possible in the modern era. Should sign Davis so we can have 4 go for it next year!

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Just got offered a ticket to either next Thursday's or Friday's game. Prego wife has to go to Mt. Sinai Friday morning and has to leave early to get there. Do I: A) go Thursday, stay over night and go to appointment with her...in which case we'd have to get mother in law to sleep over Thursday and take kids to school in the AM...and I'd miss 1.5 days of work (need to work weekend to make it up) go Friday so I can take kids to school Friday AM (avoiding the MIL) and only miss 0.5 days of work. Option A is a lot more effort although wife may appreciate me coming to the appointmeant...is it worth it to see the first playoff game in 22 years? Or is Game 2 going to be just as good with the Stroshow on the bump???

Cookie Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Does she want you to go with her and is it a big appointment? If they are just going to measure her for the 5th time...meh. I would rather have my spouse home on the weekend to deal with the outside children and not be having to make up time than have him at my appointment. Go to the game but put in a solid effort for the rest of the weekend.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Regarding things Pillar has done lately, this home run off of Severino in the Yankee series was 23rd in terms of exit velocity (115.8 mph) in MLB this year via Hit-tracker. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/69808956/v495134483/nyytor-pillar-scorches-solo-shot-to-second-deck/?c_id=mlb

EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I'm wondering more about whether there's been top 3 RBI man in the league in the same team before... it's not too likely but we are close right now with JD and Bats at 1st and 2nd right now and Edwin is 4th behind Chris Davis.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 I miss Larry Walker. It's a shame he doesn't get more HOF support. I love Walker but I understand the lack of support. He's a borderline on every vote for me if I had one (which I really should). One other thing on that 96 and 97 Rockies, Walker wasn't one of the 40 HR guys in 96 it was Burks with Gallaraga and VinnyCast
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Yeahhhh, kinda hard to choose between Spiderman's grab vs Superman's snag. Both were impressive. I think his best catch might have been the one on Sano. Those are definitely the top 3 though. Yup. All 3 below. Rajai Davis made a wall climbing take away catch like Pillar's. They look/are impressive, but only guys like Kevin Kiermaier and Pillar could make these other 2 plays imo. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v514539083/must-c-catch-pillar-lays-out-for-spectacular-grab http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=sano+catch+pillar&FORM=VIRE7#view=detail&mid=330B8B7C89E62D65D874330B8B7C89E62D65D874 http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=pillar%20climbs%20wall&qs=n&form=QBVR&pq=pillar%20climbs%20wall&sc=0-11&sp=-1&sk=#view=detail&mid=74B4C2083EB92B4AC11074B4C2083EB92B4AC110
