Welp, we're going down the rabbit hole now folks.

Swag revenue is split among all 30 clubs, they were filling a similar amount of seats last year at this time, and extra fans lead to more expenses. This won't lead to payroll skyrocketing next season.

That is the craziest thing ever!!!

End result....More Fans ......more cash.....having more fans is never an issue.....You will never ever hear a team complain about increase in attendance LOL

I think you guys are underestimating the value of Novelty. If this was the way jays were every year the hype wouldn't be nearly as big. A lot of this excitement and uptick is due to that factor

Rogers understands that.

The Jays are well past being a novelty. They just need to win to get the fans back. There is an entire generation of fans from the '90s and this is their opportunity to build on that.

The increased TV ratings are way more important to Rogers than the RC attendance. 1.44M for a Tuesday Jays game against Oakland, that's insane!

This getting close to the excitement levels of the 2014 Raps in the city IMO. This city just wants a winner so bad. Doesn't even matter what sport (CFL a doesn't count).

It's way beyond the 2014 Raps. These Jays actually have a shot at a title.

Yes, TV ratings are gold in the game Rogers is in.

+ they've more than doubled the average TV ratings since acquiring Tulo

This past weekend (600,000 is SN's average):

1. MLB, Blue Jays at Yankees, Sunday, Sportsnet: 1,430,000

2. MLB, Blue Jays at Yankees, Friday, Sportsnet: 1,290,000

3. MLB, Blue Jays at Yankees, Saturday, Sportsnet: 1,150,000

4. CFL, Roughriders at Argonauts, Saturday, TSN: 864,000

5. CFL, Blue Bombers at Tiger-Cats, Sunday, TSN: 525,000

6. CFL, Alouettes at Redblacks, Friday, TSN: 446,000

7. Parapan Games, opening ceremonies, Friday, CBC: 356,000

8. Parapan Games, prime-time coverage, Saturday, CBC: 343,000

9. MLB, Orioles at Angels, Sunday, Sportsnet: 288,000

10. Parapan Games, afternoon coverage, Sunday, CBC: 286,000

The most shocking part: The Parapan's? Really?

Extra fans only leads to an increase in certain variable expenses such as more ushers more ticketing agents etc. These expenses are miniscule compared to most of the expenses which are fixed such Dome maintenance electricity production ect.

Other then more workers I can't imagine an.increase in any other expenses with respect to attendance increase

Hoping it's the old bait and switch for Hutch. Have them prepare for Drew then give them Price :)

Ya i would doubt that Price would go on 1 days rest.

Ah crap I got the order screwy. Swap Price for Dickey!

Hoping it's the old bait and switch for Hutch. Have them prepare for Drew then slip in the Dickey :)

Most people on here already know the lineup for tonight but for the few that don't here it is from the Blue Jays Twitter -

. It would be good to see the number 7, 8 and 9 hitters getting on base again. It looked like Ben Revere was starting to hit but he didn't get on base last night. Pillard had a single and Goins a walk but that was it for the 7, 8 and 9 hitters. Although Goins is showing a better eye at the plate, he is also letting hittable pitches go by; now that he is a more patient hitter, it would be good if he could start being just a bit more aggressive.

The rest of the lineup looks solid. I think the Blue Jays will score 6 runs tonight, and the A's no more than 2 (because Dickey has been great lately, and the Blue Jays can easily score 6).

I had to thank you just for the great looking woman you have as an avatar (whoever it is, it is certainly pleasant to look at).

There's a reason those guys are hitting 7-9

Agreed, we know why they are 7 - 9. However, on the positive side, Revere led the NL last year in hits and Pillar had a great June, while Goins at-bat successes have been more spotty. I just hope they can get something going even if by random chance/luck.
