How do the blackouts work? Let's say I want to watch the away team for Jays games at home. I'm thinking of just paying for one month of premium at $24.99 so I can watch the contenders in the AL and some NL games.

If you're signed up for emails from mlb.com or bluejays.com, you will have received a promotional email where you can get the rest of the regular season for 50% off ($24.99) instead of paying that amount for just one month.

What causes Bautista's BABIP to be so low exactly?

Hes at .224 this year the lowest since 2012, is getting unlucky?

He's been an extreme flyball hitter, flyballs will lead to a lower BABIP than usual, and he doesn't get to many infield hits since he's not an above-average runner.

Plus home runs don't count towards BABIP.

If not a sprinkler head,it would have been something else.the guys an accident looking for a place to happen.

The unfortunate truth. Shpuld've held on to JA Happ. Oh well, David Price!!

So you're saying Bautista is a selfish player who doesn't play small ball to bring in runs? BABIP don't lie. #LOCKERROOMCANCER #TRADETHEDOMONICANS #GETONLYWHTIES

Wow, that's impressive.

I have one remaining grandparent and I'm less than half your age.

The Blue Jays are the #1 team in the MLB on the recently updated Baseball Prospectus Hit List.

http://www.baseballprospectus.com/hitlist/

Unlike many power rankings, the Prospectus Hit List rankings are determined objectively via the Hit List Factor, an average of a team's actual winning percentage and the three Pythagenpat winning percentages from our Adjusted Standings report. The first-order winning percentage is calculated via actual runs scored and runs allowed, the second-order winning percentage uses Equivalent Runs scored and allowed, which are calculated from run components (hits, walks, total bases, stolen bases, outs, etc.) and adjusted for park and league scoring levels, and the third-order winning percentage uses Adjusted Equivalent Runs scored and allowed, which adjust the Equivalent Runs totals for the quality of each team's opponents' pitching and defense.

You can find out more about how they determine Hit List ranks here: https://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=4383

Just signed up and got the confirmation email to verify but no promotional email like you stated. And yes, I checked the receive emails from mlb.

That's great man. I'm 35 and lost all my grandparents by the time I was 33 and they were only in their 70's when they died, so not that unbelievable that Hawkins would still have grandparents at 42.

Yeah I'm not sure if you'll get it since it was sent out a few days ago, but it's still good you signed up, because you'll get any future promos they have. The Jays also regularly send out promos for their online shop.

I'd give you one of the promo links they sent me but it can't be used on an email that isn't associated with that account.

they are both in their mid 90's

my grandma and my mom both had babies young

edit to pre-empt snide comments: they were married

My great-grandmother lived to be 98, lost her just before my 21st birthday.

I'm 41 and were down to one parent on my wife's side. No grandparents. I do have a great uncle and aunt that are 104 and 101 respectively.

Im 50 too and cant believe L54 and others are so young (or Im so old). They cant even really remember our WS teams and have been living this drought without seeing what we were fortunate enough to see.

This team has to do it again for them.

Just great news. 3 week strech so important. Unless he gets hurt we should have Pompey in September but I would prefer more of a veteran guy with a track record against lefties. Taking away everyday at-bats for Pompey probably not an option.

I don't really see the need. They have Pompey in AAA and a few guys who can play the OF in case of injury.

Hope this Oakland series isn't a letdown. We're facing good pitching and this is a series in past yrs where we would lay an egg. I'd be content with 2/3. Can't take them lightly.

"RHP Kendall Graveman (6-7, 3.90) will start Tuesday's game at Toronto. He's 0-3 with a 6.20 ERA over his last five starts."

Fear not. The boys are gonna light up this clown who helped get us the Bringer of Rain.

I was 12 and 13 when they won their WS and I remember it well. Feel lucky to have just been old enough to really start getting into sports. The first games I went to at SkyDome were in September 1993. Good times.
