itaos Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If Buehrle turns down a qualifying offer then retires do the Jays get any additional draft pick? I don't recall the Mariners getting anything when Morales signed after the compensation deadline but was curious if anyone knows.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Any word on Travis? He is going to get an MRI, he said it was the same thing in his shoulder as last time and he'd try to play through it if possible.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 He is going to get an MRI, he said it was the same thing in his shoulder as last time and he'd try to play through it if possible. not good.... he was just starting to take off again.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 not good.... he was just starting to take off again. Hopefully it was what they said...just an irritation. Maybe with some treatment he could be back to normal in a week

He'll try to play through the injury for a week or so, then he'll go on the DL when management sees he is struggling.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Well hes struggling right now. Hard to imagine he could play much worse. Do you always troll? Do you ever post seriously?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 What? He has been struggling recently. The last 3 or 4 games he hasn't look good at all. I'm worried that hes already playing injured because hes looked off. He got off to a nice start after the ASB. But clearly still not right. You know we're talking about Travis... He hit a homer in his first AB tonight ffs....
Caper Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I have a question. Say we are in it in September. Who comes up in September to help with the push? What about bringing up some speedsters, even though they are not ready in order to replace guys like EE, Smoak or Collabello late in games on the bases. Or late game defense. What other needs to you see that may need to be filled and who would you bring up to fill them.
Nabru Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 By spring training 2016, Donaldson will be 30, Tulo will be 31, Martin will be 33, Edwin will be 33, Bautista will be 35. And look at the money that is tied up Tulo and Martin (will be worse if they extend the last two and Donaldson when he ages). The playoffs will likely still be a pipe dream. Typical Toronto sports. Make big flashy moves, have press conferences, wow the media. You can only polish a turd (in this case - this franchise) before people realize that it's still crap. How about building a solid base instead of swinging for the fences for that quick fix? I won't get sucked in. I might be labelled a "troll" or have gifs thrown at me by people who have the social skills of an unconfident 14 year old boy but I won't be played for a fool. This franchise is doomed with no end in sight. Beeston, Ed Rogers, AA, Gibbons, Cito and anyone else involved in this political ball wash of an org can eat s***.

Jonzo Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Based on Travis' reaction, it doesn't sound good. With the amount of time he had off, and then the time he was back playing - to re-injure it like that on a swing is not a good sign. This will probably linger for the remainder of the season unfortunately. Shoulders are tricky..

I'm sorry, I just can't believe that there are people around who still believe that the current regime can put a good product on the field. You can only go off of what history tells you and history tells me that there is zero hope to getting out of this perpetual .500 rut. What has happened to this once first class franchise is an abomination, plain and simple.

They are in first place mostly thanks to Arod (40) and Tex (35). I'm not worried about Martin/Tulo/Donaldson
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I'm hoping we just DL Travis and have him come back healthy for September. I'm fine with a middle infield of Tulo and Goins for a month.

flafson Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Any word on Bautista? Please tell me it was just a cramp.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 How would you guys know how serious the injury is? The medical staff should evaluate him and only advocate to DL Travis if they expect him to be out for over a week. Just guessing really. Just thinking from the past a reoccurring injury rarely turns out to be nothing.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Any word on Bautista? Please tell me it was just a cramp. Bautista tweeted after the game that it was just a cramp. Expects to play today. Travis was saying he is going to try and play through it, doesn't expect to miss any time either.

Probably wasn't 100% to begin with and just flared on him again.
